Hi
A long shot here, but does anyone know if the Tiffany and Signed Pieces ring sizes are excactly the same?? I think I recall someone had one of each type but cant remember who?
I am in the UK and trying to get the right size ring.  I have found that there is no universal excact ring size, and that each jeweller can be slightly different and that when the UK ones convert  this into US sizing, again slight discrepencies.  No big issue, unless like me you plan to import the ring and getting the right size is really important.

So on the off chance someone knows, are the ring sizes the same?  If so, I will go to to Bond Street London and get my hand sized up at the Tiffany counter.

Cheers
D2B  (who really really wishes she could just fly to the US and visit Signed Pieces and sort all this out in person, rather than online!!

thank goodness for Pricescope, where else could one ask these question and not be thought of as insane

Hi why not email or call signed pieces and ask if their sizes are standard US sizes? I think Tiffany's is standard US size

I have thought about this too since I have been looking at the eternity bands and they are not sizeable. Here is a suggestion. Buy one of the cheapest plain bands that is close to the same thickness as the one you really want and use it for sizing. Make your best guess (based on Tiffany) and then you can tell Signed Pieces larger or smaller. That way you'll both be comparing the same thing. Those plain gold bands are under $100 which might be worth it if you are talking about a ring that is not easily returnable or sizeable. Good luck!

Many vendors will send you one of their sizing rings if you ask to make sure you're getting the right size ring. It's worth a call to SP to see if they'll do that for you.

Thanks everyone,

I hope Kaleigh sees this ( I also thought she had both)

I have contacted SP, however when I talked to Powel he didnt appear to know what I meant when I asked about sizing rings, maybey I shoud have been a bit more clearer, or persued it further.  I might just have to get them to send me some cheap bands - the only issue I will stay have to pay 20% customs, and fill out all the paerwork for the refund.  So therefore I thought if anyone has both Tiffany and SP I could pop into London to get this sorted out.

I just want my ring and finish this process.
Anyway, hoepefully Kaleigh or someone else has both and can chime in.
Thanks for all the other ideas everyone
cheers

D2B why don't you do it the other way and buy a cheap silver ring of the right width and size for you and send it to them? Then they can just measure it with their measuring stick and make your ring in the right size.

Hi D2B,
  did you get your ring size at Tiffany's?  Signed Pieces carries a lot of Tiffany rings, so you can tell them that you wear a Tiffany size 6 or whatever your Tiffany ring size is.  At least you and SP will have a common reference.

Ditto, this seems like the obvious answer to me.

~~~ When in doubt...don't.~~~
Thanks everyone.
Called SP  - and they are not in favour of sending me one or two of their plain wedding bands for sizing purposes (with me paying for them of course and then sending them back), so will try the Tiffany route next week and get measured by them.  I had forgotten that they of course sell Tiffany so thereofre should be able to get a common reference.   I have been trying to find a plain silver ring that fits, but a lot of the really cheap rings come in large, medium or small - which is fine for costume jewellery but not to use as a size gauge.
I just want to get the size right, as I dont want to resize my ring too much as I am worried it will impact on the integrity of the shared prong setting IYKWIM.
Everyones ideas much appreciated.
I am in the UK too, I don't buy from QVC but I know someone who does and know they send out free ring sizers, those plastic strips with an arrow on the end and you tighten it on your finger to the correct letter.  You could get one of them and then send it to Signed Pieces stating which letter it sized too so they can check it with their sizes.  I have also seen people say to take a piece of string and measure around your finger and send the string.
Lots of places in the US send out free plastic ring size sets i.e. a whole range of plastic rings n every size. There must be UK companies that do that too. Just get one of those and then send the plastic ring to SP. That would be more accurate than getting sized once at Tiffs. You can try different rings at different times of the day, wear them round for a bit, then decide. If you want I can get a set here and send them to you? I think I've got one lying around anyway. Just another thought.
Blue Nile sends out those plastic ring sizers for free.  It's actually one ring with that's adjustable.  Sorta like a belt.
