Hi all: This is a wonderdul forum with great advices. I learned so much...But we need to buy the ring in Vancouver, Canada and not from the USA because of import taxes. I am a student here in the USA and BF just moved to Canada from Europe.. In Vancouver, they have Cartier and Tiffany..In my last visit.I did go to both stores but I did not pay attention to rings in Cartier !!I tried watches LoL.. , In Tiffany, i loved the legacy and the tiffany NOVO rings, they looked wonderful on my hand but they are above our budget...I tried a ring similar to this onehttp://www.tiffany.com/expertise/engagement/engagement.aspx?style=round_brilliant&ring=bead By US dollars, it costs $4440 (0.45 carat, H, VS1) I tend to trust Cartier and Tiffany although they overprice their pieces...Anyway, my question to you is: Do you know any other reliable jewellery stores in Vancouver? Thanks in advance H. PS: We do not feel comfortable buying diamonds from the Internet... |

HI: Check this thread out about Britton Jewellers in the groovie. http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=16128 Incidentally there are no longer any "import" (aka "excise") taxes for bringing jewellery into Canada: you'd only pay GST and BC's Provincial sales taxes, should you decide to cross border shop--and you'll pay those locally anyway. Speaking of which, Wink Jones is in Boise Idaho, and NiceIce is in Roseburg Oregon should you fancy a drive to buy--not SO far from Vancouver. Check their websites out on the vendors page, here on PS. cheers--Sharon "People who possess great qualities, do not need to show off". |

Hi Humble!! Welcome to the growing Canadian representation here on PS! I cannot help you with any VAN reco's but I'm in TO and can offer sympathy for our lack of exposure here in the great white north! I recently bought from Whiteflash - had a great experience (only paid the 6% GST) and will absolutley do it again. There is so much amazing advice and learning here. Thanks southern neighbours
