Hi, I've been reading the forum for about a month and I'm trying to narrow down my diamond search. I've pretty much decided on an ACA Princess from WH. I had decide on one a few weeks ago, but I took to long to make the purchase and someone else snagged it from me. I spoke with a WH rep and she said they just got new ones in and are not expecting anymore until Oct - Nov. I'm going to need the ring by October. Anyways, I have 5 I'm thinking about now and could use your help in narrowing it down to 1 or 2.

1) http://www.whiteflash.com/aca_princess/A-Cut-Above-Princess-cut-diamond-336513.htm
- I'm a little scared w/ H color

2) http://www.whiteflash.com/aca_princess/A-Cut-Above-Princess-cut-diamond-78246.htm

3) http://www.whiteflash.com/aca_princess/A-Cut-Above-Princess-cut-diamond-174075.htm

4) http://www.whiteflash.com/aca_princess/A-Cut-Above-Princess-cut-diamond-52593.htm

5) http://www.whiteflash.com/aca_princess/A-Cut-Above-Princess-cut-diamond-56830.htm
- this one is pushing the budget quite a bit

If you notice a different stone that I've not listed above that you think great diamond/deal I'm all ears.
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Ryan

I am not an expert like many of the other people on here, however as a girl who loves diamonds (and has done quite a bit of research), my
vote is http://www.whiteflash.com/aca_princess/A-Cut-Above-Princess-cut-diamond-174075.htm or http://www.whiteflash.com/aca_princess/A-Cut-Above-Princess-cut-diamond-56830.htm

I'd personally find any of the first 3 more than reasonable...modestly favoring #3 along with "in the rough" above...but I'd drop out 4 & 5.

Thank You both for the replies. It looks like #3 is 2 for 2 so far.

Another vote here for #3.  I'd put a hold on it.   G VS2 is a sweet spot for me.

Hmm, why is the pricescope price for #3 more than the WH listed price?

Hmmm probably an error, I'd ask WF about it.  WF offers a pricescope discount to their customers, it's small but it helps.  You have to ask for it to get it.

Like the others I like #3.  It looks like a beauty.

If there are any other opinions on the diamonds keep them coming. I would also like to get your opinion on these 2 settings. Which do you like better for a princess cut.

Also, after going back and looking at the diamonds again I'm a little curious why you guys choose #3 over #2. They are about the exact same size and if #2 is eye-clean and F color, just curious.

Thanks,

Ryan

I'd pick 1 first, or 3. I don't think H would be a problem, and it's definitely bigger.

And I like the second setting.

Both are lovely, but I'm especially partial to the second setting.  It's so beautiful!!!  Lynn b has this ring (the original designer) and you can do a search for her to see many pics.  It's a stunner!

provided diamond #2 is eye clean i would be most interested in that one! please note, my opinion is based solely upon the pics, #2 has a nice clean pattern that is beautiful to me and easy to distinguish and enjoy. also, i love a nice white diamond, so an F would be outstanding. i have a princess (G color) and i love those moments when i look down and it's flashing pure whiteness. i can only imagine what a D/E/F would look like! but again, it would have to be eye clean, as it wouldn't matter how white it was to me if there were an inclusion distracting me!

and DEFINATELY setting #2 as well. i seriously considered that for my remount, along with the matching band. lynn b's is to die for, you must check out her thread. the prongs on the first one are kind of boring, standard issue. the head on the harmony has nice detail, makes it pretty from all angles, and to my aesthetic gives the effect of cradling the diamond rather than clamping it in place. JMHO, best of luck! oh one other thing, setting #2 might be a little more comfortable. there's some debate over the comfort of settings like #1, some folks find them a little scratchy, some get over it, some never have an issue. i *think* lynn b said hers felt good from day one.

Thank you rainydaze for the input. Ya, it's between #2 and #3. I'm kind of leaning towards #2 if it's eye-clean. Based on the IS and ASET will there be much of a performance difference between #2 and #3? Also, I think I'm pretty much set on setting #2. One question, is it easy to find a nice wedding band to match setting #2?

Thanks,

Ryan

i wish i could give you performance input on your options, but i'm not qualified like so many more here. i'm sure WF could better help you, everyone says they are fantastic in this.

with setting 2, lynn b (who is the originator of the harmony setting) had WF make her wband to match. so while WF does not offer it on their site (yet?) i'm sure if you ask about it when they call they will discuss it with you and give you a quote for it. it is the same as the band to the harmony, just without the head and diamond of course. it's beautiful together, a stunning set.

here's her thread, and some pics (keep in mind her diamond is a 2+ ct RB)  http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=46129&pageNo=2

I'm a little late to this discussion, but just wanted to give you my 2 cents worth. H color should be fine in an ACA princess. I have an I-colored ACA and it's very white. That said, it's hard to decide without a pic of #1. My choice would actually be #2 so far (unless I see the pic of #1 and fall in love with it). I think the picture looks prettier than #3, and it's larger, more square, and less expensive. #5 is way too expensive. #4 is pretty but more expensive than some of the other equally pretty ones.

Looks like #2 was sold...hope it was sold to you!

Hi all,

For those interested I made the final payment on diamond #2 today and chose the Harmony setting. The ring is going into production shortly and I will definitely post pics of the finished ring once WF emails them to me. Thank you all for the help.
