What's the best place to but RA's in NYC? I know they're sold at Michael C. Fina and GOG on Long Island. Does anyone know anywhere else, or places in the diamond distrct?
Also, is there any evidence of the premium paid for an RA over a "regular" asscher?

I would certainly recommend Jon and Tim at Good Old Gold. They are excellent to deal with. I'm afraid I can't tell you whether a RA is better than an excellent regular asscher. I'd personally be open to one without the RA brand to try to get more size.

RA's are considerably more expensive than generic asschers, for the same reasons that ANY branded diamond is more expensive. The faceting pattern on the RA is patented, and thus a bit different than a regular asscher, but similar looks can be achieved with the regular one IMO.

Mark at Engagement Rings Direct is in the diamond district. He's great and very good with fancy shapes in general. I'm sure he could source some for you.

Thanks for these. I've seen both RA's and "regulars" in person but never side-by-side. As I'm still undecided (though definitely leaning towards the RA), I'm hoping to find a place in NYC where I can see them next to each other to do a true evaluation. So keep the recs coming!
