I finally found a baby pink morganite oval whose dimensions are 14 x 12mm. Now comes the setting search. After looking at threads for oval diamonds, I found a beauty, but don't know where it's from. Anyone have an idea either about this one or another?

Just an idea, but I like a lot of these settings that Firenze has... Pretty stone, BTW! http://cgi.ebay.com/1-38CT-DIAMOND-18K-WHITE-GOLD-ENGAGEMENT-RING-MOUNTING_W0QQitemZ140011706578QQihZ004QQcategoryZ92906QQcmdZViewItem ![]()

I don't know what your budget is, but this dealer I've bought from before, and he has settings identical to the one you posted at the top of this thread, but I don't know if he has one that would fit a 12 x 14 stone. He's extremely good to work with and his diamonds are very nice (not the frozen spit kind). You can purchase a gemstone ring from him, and he can give you the mountng without the gemstone less a percentage of the price. This is kind of whimisical and very well priced and would fit a 12 x 14 stone. His prices are very reasonable. http://cgi.ebay.com/6-90ct-PINK-AMETHYST-DIAMONDS-14K-WHITE-GOLD-RING_W0QQitemZ200023097372QQihZ010QQcategoryZ67727QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem |

He also doesn't charge any extra for shipping or sizing and I had him size my mounting from a 6 to a 9. This setting is extremely well priced for almost 8 grams of gold and 30 points of diamonds. |

I almost want to say that it's from Knox Jewelers? But realistically, I think it would need to be made custom, as **most** halos are, so you could probably get anyone to make that setting for you.

As you know, Maytal makes settings like the one above. I guess the major question is whether you want to pay more for a setting than the stone probably cost. On the other hand, you'll probably have to have a custom made setting if you want a halo style to fit your stone.

FacetFire: Thanks for posting that lovely setting. Perhaps I could contact the seller to see whether he has one with uniform size pave diamonds around the bezel. twodoor2: I love the price and the fact that shipping is free ![]() neatfreak: Thanks for the suggestion of Knox Jewelers. I think they'll do custom made and I'll inquire about the cost. diamondseeker: I'm sure Maytal would make a similar setting, but the cost might be multiples of the morganite's cost. No harm in asking, though. Thanks.

http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=967&action=show_detail This one is VERY close to the one above.. it's from Knox... stock... so the only customization if going to be for your stone's size. I love it.

Thanks, Gypsy. It is a beauty and I have contacted Knox jewelers about a price.![]() The Firenze picture posted yesterday by FacetFire would be $2000. in WG. I'm not thrilled about either the marquis diamonds on the side or the basket style under the stone. Firenze also had a split shank halo that I really liked, but it can't be made to fit the morg. ![]() Hopefully, I'll hear from Ryan Knox and Maytal soon. Since the morganite is large enough, maybe I could save a lot of $$ by eliminating the halo. The practical side of me says that it's crazy to spend multiples of the cost of the stone on a setting.
