If I'm going to be in a situation where I know there will be a lot of hand shaking I make a point to wear it on my left hand. I think it would depend on the style of the ring (e.g., prong set, channel set) and the size of the diamonds though. If I recall correctly you're considering prong set ovals of a fairly large size, right?

I have been wearing it daily in the hope that I can desensitize myself to it--but it is still "pokey". Dh was holding my hand the other day and I had to ask him to lighten his grip!
