Hi all, have been lurking for a couple months, found what I want, (but only at a B&M store). It is a 3 stone ring, with a center stone halo. I can't find a 3 stone ring with a halo like that online, and don't want to buy from the store because they want $8K for it (featuring a hideous .75 ct I1 rock!) Been searching for something similar online but so far no luck...I figured it was time to ask the experts...

My wife to be has a size 7 finger and wants something substantial looking (she thinks something too dainty won't look good). But I'm not letting her ring shop or diamond shop with me, I want her to be surprised. I think she would like the look of the halo but not the 1-2mm bands most of them have. That 3 stone fit the bill. If you've seen something like that online, please reply! Thanks!

SK, hello and welcome!

Do you only want the center stone halo'd or all three stones, like this?

Thank you for the input Dee*Jay....just the center stone. but the pic of the 3 stone you posted is nice, what is it?
The one I saw was a cushion center with a squarish halo and two square sides...I'd rather round stones though, especially a center round since they face up bigger and I can't afford big. I figure looking at the ring It was worth maybe $2,500, and I could get a .75-.90 ct center round way better than that I1 they had for $3,200...

The 3 stone in your pic looks interesting though, I'd love to know what it is.

Thanks
SK

Welcome to PS sk, i believe this ring is Ritani, not sure though but you should go to http://www.ritani.com/ and see their Endless Love collection.
I browsed it for you just now and saw one ring almost as what you are looking for but with bezel set pear sapphires as side stones. There are more but site is new and though very impressive with all the flash but did freeze on me several times.

Although that is very romantic, we've heard some disaster stories here on Pricescope.  I would at least show her some halo rings to see if she likes the halo look.  Some girls might prefer something simpler.

Link to Adwar Catalogue

Here's some hard to see pics of this.  You can select a setting and have a jeweler order it for you and complete the ring.  It's an affordable option.

Wow!  This is actually really hard...I'm envisioning a cushion cut center with a micropave halo, cushion sides, and a pave shank.  Is that right?

You may want to look at custom if you can't find exactly what you want.  Would the jeweler with the orignal ring allow you to set a different stone in it?  Or could they make you a new one to the specs of your own stone?

Hope you find what you are looking for!  I wear a 6.75 ring, my stone is 1.5 carats and I'm 5'10"...I did tell my DH that I needed a larger stone for my larger hand, so your wife to be is spot on when she tells you a "daintier" stone won't look right on her finger, imo!

No, the store with the original ring would not let me mount my own stone, something about it being their "special selection" diamonds and the ring was only sold with those stones! Thanks for all the input, guys, (gals), I think she will like the ring I'm picturing in my mind, so I'm not too worried about that. And I may consider getting someone to make it for me. Thanks for all the ideas!

BigDiamonds I think your description of the ring I want is spot on...

The center stone was about .75 and the sides were maybe .40 each...and they were grouped such that the halo blended into the ring design and you really didn't see it as a "halo" ring...it just looked like a flash of diamonds! Had a really cool effect and after looking at solitaires and being almost set on that for awhile, this new ring really caught my eye!
