This diamond has a HUGE discount and I don't know why, It has strong flr but its not cloudy. The HCA seems all very good. The flaws are colud and feather.
.75 ct
Round
Color: G
VS2
Cut: Excellent
5.9-5.94
Pol/Sym: VG/VG
Flr: Stg Blue

Crown Angle: 33deg.
Pavilion: 41.4deg.
Table: 57%
Depth: 60.6%
Is there something that would be wrong with these dimensions? They pulled the diamond and said it looks great and I am waiting for a pic. Its priced below $1700. Should I be scared of this diamond or ecstatic because I found a good deal?

Thanks,
Roy

It doesn't get great a great HCA score, 3.1 on the HCA. So if you're ok with knowing that you could get a much better performing diamond, the price certainly seems good for what it is.

Yes, very reputable. I planned on spending about twice as much on the diamond and putting about $1000 on credit but I'm in school for 6 more years and starting off without any debt(besides undergrad loans) sound pretty freaking good.
Thanks,
Roy

Like I said, if you're ok knowing the cut isn't the very best, it sounds good.

You also should make sure your girl likes flouro though. A stone with strong blue will look purple or blue in bright sunlight. Most of us here love it, but some don't.

Also make sure that it doesn't look oily once you get it, but if the vendor says it's ok, it probably is.

Otherwise as long as the vendor has a good return policy in case you hate it, I don't see why not...

The cut on this stone isn't optimal, but it isn't really bad either.  The price on this stone is definitely fantastic...which makes me nervous.  Does the stone come with a return period?  If it does, I would take it to an independent appraiser after purchase just to make sure everything is fine.

She does like it, so do I. They have a great return policy. I just wanted to make sure there isnt anything crazy to suspect.
Thanks for the input I think I am going to go for it.
Thank You,
Roy

Note the strong flourescence. This can make a stone appear greasy in sunlight.

This is very very rare, but if it does happen you'll notice it and you can return it.

I would check carefully that this isn't the case with the vendor, as this stone is so cheap - a G VS of that size with a GIA report normally sells for considerably more.

the hca is being overly harsh because of Pavilion: 41.4deg but it is well matched with Crown Angle: 33deg.
It should be a very bright diamond.

The IS looks great and the IS trumps hca.

It should be a very nice diamond but is near h&a and not h&a by the looks of it.
The angles are fine so if the price is right then its a nice deal.
Id expect a similar price to a WF ES line with a simular stone on it.

The ideal scope image shows very little leakage.  The images show some slight symmetry issues that are probably not visible to the naked eye.  Overall, I'd take it!!  It should be a very pretty diamond and what a steal!!!!  JA is definitely a reputable company, I purchsed my e-ring stone from them.

Thanks! I pick it up from being set thursday so I will take some pics then. I go to F1 that weekend then I will ask her parents on Monday or Tuesday, then move into our apartment 3 days early on friday, she gets of work at 11 then I will tell her to come by the new apartment and suprise her. She thinks I only have $600 saved for the ring and I made plans to go shopping for diamonds with her mom after the end of the month so I am hoping she won't find out. Its kind of crazy to think how soon this is all going to happen!

Thanks and pics soon,
Roy
