given that the size of the rock is not the only thing that matters, just wondering how big your diamon/stone is and your ring size. want to get a good balance from an aesthetic point of view. my ring size is 4. 5, and i think btw 0.7 - 1 carat looks nicest

Well I fit right in with your assessment with a .74 rock and a 4.5 finger.  However, I'd get what she likes rather than what you think she looks best in.  Many ladies prefer a large rock no matter what, and other ladies prefer a smaller stone.  I think what size looks the best on the same size hand really varies from person to person.

my ring size is 4.5 and my stone is 2cts but it is a princess so it faces up smaller than a round but I really wanted a princess. What she wants should be of most importance.

Mine is a .81 on a size 5.5

Something to remember when polling about diamond size here: PS is REALLY skewed towards bigger diamonds here. Not that it's a bad thing (how could it be right?), but in the real world most women (except in select metropolitan areas) have under 1ct no matter what their hand size is.

I have a just-over-1ct princess on a 6.75 finger. The width of the diamond is about 1/3 the width of my finger, which I consider good finger coverage. (But every time I see the huge rocks here, I feel the diamond shrinkage!)

1.03 cushion (6.1x5.9) on a 4.75 finger.  It's a "polite" size as some of my Aussie friends would say.

I second that.  Mine will be a 1.03 on a 5.75, which is quite humble by PS standards but normal to large by local (Colorado) standards.

I have a 1.03 tiffany novo and a 3.75 finger. I wouldn't object to a bigger rock, but I think its the absolute perfect size for my hand!

I have a three stone ring and my center stone (a RB) is .92.  The pear diamonds on the sides are each .20.  My ring size is 4.5 but I went with 4.75.  It's pretty loose much of the time and I've thought about resizing it but then it would be too tight at times.  Anyway, I think the diamonds are the perfect size for my hands and I love my ring.

You goof.

1.40 on a 5.5. I've actually lost weight in my fingers (was 6.25, though loose).

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

Will we have to lipo all 10 fingers, or just 1?
