The numbers are great.  Can't tell more without Idealscope/ASET.  Just make sure that you are alright with the inclusions for an SI2.  Come up with a definition of eyeclean and make sure the vender can assure that for you.  (I want to make sure no inclusions can be seen from a foot away..or whatever your criteria would be).

Seems like a great diamond based on what I can tell from the numbers.

The numbers look fantastic!!!  I would ask WF if the stone is eye clean.  Also, would you mind posting the images?

Easy winner!

Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the memory lives on because an enormous part of his owner's heart, soul, very existence dies also...but that can never be laid to rest, it is not meant to be...

Exactly, it's an ACA. Hard to get better.

Eye cleanliness is the only issue.

Nice looking stone.  Ask them to clarify if it is eye clean, and at what distance.

Alright guys, this is what I got from WF, in terms of their eyeclean analysis:

From 3-4 inches from your eye you can or may be able to detect a slight inclusion. From 10-12 inches from the eye, you will not see anything. Also, you may be able to see some inclusions from the side view but, based on the setting, most of the time, prongs will hide the side view.

How does that sound? If all goes well, I will pull the trigger once my bank wire comes through.

i think it sounds yummariffic...but then again, i am not one of those totally adverse to inclusions either.
you could always just get it and have a look.  if it bothers you, send it back.

It's totally up to the one who wears it as to whether that is acceptable or not. No way for us to say.

Fabulous! What a great deal. As long as you don't mind knowing about the inclusions, you sure won't be able to see them from normal viewing distance. I've got an SI2 from WF and I love it!

Wow.  I would be hard pressed to kick that one out of bed for an inclusion I could only see by giving myself a headache.   It looks lovely.

Thanks everybody!

Both the fiance and I are not very sensitve in terms of color, as we have seen an I and could not tell that big of a difference between that and a D.

In terms of the inclusions you guys mention, can you actually point it out in that picture of the diamond for me? I have the AGS report and it did mention some things.

Please let me know.

Thanks again for all your help. I believe we have a winner :D

the cool thing about these well cut diamonds is, there is so much sparkle going on, you really have a hard time finding anything but the most obvious inclusions.

Back to the inclusions. The only way you'll know for sure is to see it in person. belle is right in that great cuts hide many things. But to say you personally will be fine with it, might be going a bit too far. For me anyway.

it's kinda pointless for us to point out the inclusions in a 40 mag static image (darn, i wanted to fit another 'point' in there somehow!) as ellen said, you need to see it for yourself to know whether or not it's right *for you*

Thanks for your replies. I'll just pull the trigger on it and see what it's like when I get it. I know it's all in the eye of the beholder, so I'm sorry for the redundant "point out the inclusions" and "where are the inclusions" questions and comments. I really appreciate all your feedback in helping me making this decision.

Thanks again,
David

that is the best option.
it is a scary process finally pulling the trigger on such a big purchase, we've all been through it.  our answers weren't meant to be just casual and simplistic but sound and based in reality.  what is good for me may not be good for you and there's only one way to find out if this is good for you!

i can't wait to hear what you think of it!  please keep us posted david.

Alright, I'm pretty much set on this diamond. I'm currently waiting for my bank to cash a check from my other account. Anyhow, I know there is a discount for using a bank wire transfer, but I was wondering what most people do here? I am thinking if I put it on a rewards credit card and just pay it off directly there, I would not get the discount, but I would be able to get rewards (i.e. mileage, free hotel rooms, etc.). I'm guessing it's just a decision on whether I can get over $500 rewards versus the $500 saved from doing a bank transfer? Please let me know! Thanks again!

So I went with the diamond I had in mind:

1.637 I SI2 A Cut Above Hearts & Arrows
. Report: AGS
. Shape: A Cut Above H&A
. Carat: 1.637
. Depth %: 61.7
. Table %: 56.7
. Crown Angle: 34.7
. Crown %: 15
. Star : 53
. Pavilion Angle: 40.8
. Pavilion %: 43.1
. Lower Girdle %: 77
. Girdle: Thin to Medium Faceted
. Measurements: 7.54-7.56X4.66
. Light Performance: 0
. Polish: Ideal
. Symmetry: Ideal
. Culet: Pointed
. Fluorescence: Negligible

Thanks for all your help guys. Now, we're working on finalizing between a HOF and Scott Kay setting.

Thanks also to Katie and John of White Flash. Without their help, I would never have been able to pinpoint exactly which diamond I wanted. Also, they were more than happy to answer ANY questions I had, no matter how minute or repetitive.

The ring order will be charged on Friday and I will pick it up this Saturday :)

Thanks again Pricescopers!
