I posted a couple days or so ago about the Vivida cut...I went back to the jeweler today as he received some diamonds for me to see. I fell in love with this one diamond and the setting I want to get for it is gorgeous. But here are the stats for the ring. I believe he has good prices for a B&M place.

AGS Cert
Clarity SI1 (I wanted to go with the VS2, but honestly, even with the scope, I believe this is closer to a VS2, a couple very small inclusions about 3:00 and 7:00 close to the perimeter of the stone that you could see under the scope. I had to have him point them out to me and we looked on the grading paper to see where they were. I saw one diamond the other day that was a SI1 and it had a black mark right in the middle of the diamond. So I wasn't even going to look at any more of those, but this is very clean. OK, enough about that.
Cut Round Brilliant. It had hearts and arrows.
Total Measurements: 6.87-6.91 X 4.24mm
Color G
Carat 1.25
Florescence None
Table 57.8
Depth 61.6
Crown 35.
40.9 Pavilion (the bottom part)
Culet Pointed
Polish excellent
Symmetry excellent
The girdle just says faceted 1.6 to 3.9
$9,000
I have researched the 4 c's and all that for quite a while...Still don't know much though.
What do you all think? I saw it under the scope of course and I saw it outdoors also.
I also saw there the perfect setting and altogether it was BLING!
So let me know what you think. Your opinions mean a lot. Thanks

Being the non-techie that I am,  I think this is  THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!!

I personally would trust my own heart and eyes over others' opinions of numbers..

The specs look fine so far, do you have any images?  Also, this diamond seems a tad expensive.  You can save about 1-2k, with a stone from a PS vendor.

This one is an H, but you get the idea 1.29 H/SI1:  (need crown/pavillion angles)

I.30 H/VS2  (need crown and pavillion angles)

1.20 F/VS2:

Is the diamond a superideal cut, H&A, or a branded stone?  If so, this could make for a higher price.

If you loved it, why not go for it?  It may not be a deal and the number geeks will tell you they can get ya better numbers....but what's most important is that you have piece of mind about your stone =)

I have to say I'd rather have this G VS2 over that other one. But if you really want to buy from the local jeweler, that stone sounds good, too!

Here's the thing, the setting it is going in is 18K gold, thick too, with the diamonds sitting in a platinum setting on the top. It has 1 carat of round diamonds, same color and SI clarity (they looked good to me under the scope) and there were I think double rows of 4 on each side. So the whole setting with the diamond center was $11,000 plus tax. He cut some of the price off from the whole set. I am going to see if I can find the setting to put here. I originally looked at an F with VS2 cut but it was a carat and I guess I feel I could sacrifice some of the color and clarity (though like I said, looks good to me) for the larger stone...The jeweler said it looked more like a VS2 to him, (I know, I know he is trying to see the ring). If I can find a setting on line that looks like it, I will post it....

Thanks Peridot83 and Widget for your comments too! There is a lot of emotion in this thing called an engagement ring...

Yes.

And there's something to be said with having a jeweler you like and trust. If you think you may have found that, he's worth far more than 2000.00.

We are going tomorrow to see the ring again, and maybe purchase it....Wish me luck... Here is a far off example of the setting with the ring...I mean the bottom is 18K gold, and it has the platinum top with prongs and 2 rows of the diamonds on the sides, but it has the Ushape prongs like this...Looks pretty close.....http://www.engagement-ring-mountings.com/five_stone_ring_settings_info_1149.htm
I'll let you know what happens!

Wow that looks gorgeous! Good luck with what you decide. If you saw the stone in person and you loved it, you can save lots of time and effort in buying locally. You might get bigger for less online and I went the online route but you need to have the stomach for it, if you know what I mean. Takes a bit more time. Good luck again for tomorrow! We need pics if you get it!

That combo can look great, sounds like you have found your diamond!

Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. Thats about what my hubby paid for a G VS that is 1.28 at a B&M, and while I think he may have overpaid by a little, I love my diamond! If you love it, then go for it!

Thanks guys for your replies.  I don't not want to get the ring cause I think I can get a better deal on line, cause that is not what my fiance wants to do and I am not comfortable either with it, though I know many people have.  This jeweler has very good service and if I wanted to upgrade (which I don't reallly see right now), you don't have to spend twice as much to upgrade, just your price of the jewelry and 1/2 that.  Also before I left, I got him to throw in a $100 steam cleaner!  I was commenting about how having the stone cleaned makes such a difference and he was saying he sells steam cleaners there, so I got him to throw one in if we went back today (which we were anyway).  I have one other question.........If you saw the picture, you can imagine like I said that it has double rows of 4 on each side of diamonds, It actually looks like it could be a wedding ring instead of an engagement ring.  I know a lot of engagement rings, if they are not solitaire can look like wedding rings, but I am afraid, it has so much bling and boldness, that it may be taken for a wedding ring when my friends or people I know see it, and then they will be like "Did you get married!"............

IT WAS AN AGS 000! When I looked at the paper, there was a zero on each line and I thought it had to have all three 000's after the AGS, but when I asked the jeweler today, he said it means AGS 000, it just listed each zero separately after the Light Performance, Proportion Factors, and Finish...Also the Polish and symmetry were ideal.. And it has perfect hearts and arrows... If we get the ring, I will somehow try to put pictures on here of it. Thanks for everyone's help.
