Hi! I got this ring about half a year ago and although I've been a long time PS browser, I just felt today like I should have a go at posting pics (probably because I've gotten sooo much pleasure out of looking at all your rings (seriously, this site becomes addictive!) and felt like I should contribute). My parents bought me the ring as a 16th bday present - they said they wanted to get me something I'd keep for always, and I wholly intend to!

Eek, does anyone know how to make the file size smaller, but still keep the image quality good? The pictures are fair...I just don't know how to upload them - I had to make this a .gif file to get it uploaded...

Welcome!    I tend to save pics as jpegs after I've cropped them down to a decent size in an editing program.  There may be more tips under FAQs...I think belle wrote a thread on how to post pictures.

Aaw, you've all posted such nice things and I'm still uploading! Thanks for letting me share! I haven't actually managed to capture either the milkiness multicoloured-ness of the opal or the sparkliness of the diamonds (really tiny diamonds always seem to sparkle like crazy)...maybe if people wanna see, I can ask my friend to take a few shots

- edit (sorry, yes, I am an october baby!)

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

That's a lovely ring Camilla! It's dainty and pretty but sophisticated too. Just perfect for a young woman!

I hope the ring will bring you lots of pleasure over many decades to come.

Thank you everyone, for all your kind words! It's funny how putting on a tiny thing like a ring or a pair of earrings can make such a difference to how you carry yourself. Kinda like 'pulling pants' or 'power shoes' (not that I have either...but there you go)
