Hi all!! Long time lurker--what a great resource this site has been.  I was wondering if anyone knows about how long leon mege has been taking to make e-rings lately?  My boyfriend is trying to suprise me but I am dying of curiousity!!  Leon has had the asscher we picked out for about 7 weeks now, but I remember he had a looooong wait list at the begining of the year.  I am not trying to ruin the suprise--just trying to figure out whether it will be more like May or more like July.  It is SO hard to wait

Hi mm....

I was quoted 5 weeks at the beginning of April, but that was for a basic solitaire with no pave work...

So, I would say May is pretty likely for you, depending on the complexity of the project...

Congratulations, and I hope you get it soon!

Thanks for the reply! Was that including "wait list" time?  Ours is essentially "the Lovey" setting; halo, 3 sided pave, etc. so ours will probably be a little longer I am guessing?
Congrats to you too!!!

Leon was a little unclear about the "waitlist" time-- in one phonecall he suggested to me that the wait time section of the quote was misleading, and I could basically ignore it, although this might have been because I was ordering a ring without any melee work.

If the waiting time applied to you, I would not be surprised if the whole process took around 5 more weeks due to all the pave work, but unfortunately for you that is just a shot in the dark guess. Either way it should not be too much longer for you

Ok, so...

LM emailed me a quote on Jan. 31st. For my ring - split shank with one side of pave - the completion time would be 4-6 weeks. In addition, the email said that he had an additional waiting list just to start the job that would add 48 days (another 7 weeks roughly).

Therefore my expectation is 11-13 weeks. My asscher was received on March 14th - I took a long time to decide! I guess I'm thinking mid-June, unless that waiting list changed over the month of February. I hope it didn't get longer!

I agree - the wait is killing me too! Hope this info helps!

wow, that's quite a long time!, over 3 almost 4 months!  But hey, at least I have some company during the wait :D

Starry,
Is it almost like the Pokey special?

Thanks Starryeyed!!  That is about what I was thinking.  I will certainly let you know when it arrives so you can gage whether it is moving faster or slower than expected.
We can all wait it out together!  I can't wait to see pictures of your ring, it looks like it will be beautiful.  I wish I was the one picking it up from Leon's so I could try to sneak a peak at all the in-progress PS'er rings!!

Almost Skippy! Pokey's is just absolutely encrusted with diamonds. The way my shank splits will be a little different too. Here is the thread that discusses the design. LINK.

Mmneder, I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your ring! Knowing when you get yours will be really helpful!

I sent it to the appraiser about 6 weeks ago but that isn't all design time.  I also have no idea how long it will take, I never asked LOL

Great news!!! My BF proposed over the weekend!!  Apparently he had asked Leon if he could pay to get off the waitlist and Leon took pity on him--he did the ring in 4 weeks at no extra charge.  I will post the pics soon, it is essentially th e"lovey" setting, but wanted you all to know it was done.

congrats to you! but boy... I can see him regretting this choice already now that a dozen others have the idea to call and ask him if they can pay him more to hurry up LOL!
