If all other things are equal, which do you prefer?

Thanks all!

(I'm having a hard time justifying the costs of something that cannot be visually seen!)

Besides, I've read many peoples opinions on this board who would rather have higher color than clarity...

If that's the case, go for a G VS2 or SI1.

"It is also important for the State to inculcate in its subjects an aversion to any 'conspiracy theory of history' for a search for 'conspiracies' means a search for motives and an attribution of responsibility for historical misdeeds."

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

E VS1

I dont think I could see the difference in the clarity so I would go for the better color.

I'm with Ellen on this one. If you don't want to pay for what you can't see, go for an eyeclean G SI1 or a G VS2 and save some money.

Or get an even bigger rock for the same amount of money!

I like VS2 clarity, with a colorless diamond. Really, you could choose an eyeclean SI1 or SI2 that looks just like a VVS with the naked eye.

I'd go with F VS1. F is still colorless, and if you are willing to go to VS1 on the E stone, then why not go to VS1 on the F as well?  I have a VS1 diamond and I cannot see any inclusions with a 10 power loupe. So anything higher than VS1 is just for mental reasons.  My stone is borderline G-H VS1, but to me, F VS1 would be just perfect!

If you are deciding between 2 specific stones, I hope they are both ideal cut. If so, and if they are the same size, I'd probaby go with whichever costs less.

~~~ When in doubt...don't.~~~
E VS1. You won't see a thing at VS1 so if that's what you are worried about, you will be all good with a VS1. I personally have a 2.1 F SI2 and I can't see a thing with the naked eye. I think that for an e-ring I would be happy with SI1 or above.
Good luck!
E VS2.  I am really color senstive.  I had a VVS and traded that for a VS2 and went from F to E.  I agree with everybody here.  Why pay for something you cannot see.
Personally, I would go with E VS1, and that is because I too am very sensitive with color. This is also why I insisted having a D stone for my ring!
D VS2!!!  Just kidding... from the two options though DEFINATELY E VS2  color for me for sure, esp. when the clarity is that close... besides you can't see the difference in clarity, but if the F is more like a G.....who knows... I vote E VS2
