Well, it depends on a lot of factors. The diamond search engine on this forum is listing 0.70ct E VS1 round diamonds with GIA certs from between $2184 and $4134. Here are some stones with different prices: http://www.mondera.com/diamonds/product.asp?partno=342244&sourceID=BPVd0yuZ5sA&sourceid=00328749382287295310 http://www.goodoldgold.com/0_71ct_e_vs1__h&a.htm example of a super cut http://search.virtcert.com/cgi/u/1057/v.cgi?stock=1186315&_s=1057&_p=abaz83&_c=&_fs=1&prestock=&_ln=ps price $2256 A simple, 2.5mm platinum setting generally costs around $300. However, even a simple platinum setting can increase a lot in price if it involves a lot more platinum or is a special design. http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=1&catid=7&filter_id=0&nav1=settings_channel.asp&page=1&col=3&row=4&pos=12&set_shape= http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=3770&catid=7&filter_id=0&nav1=settings_channel.asp&page=1&col=1&row=3&pos=7&set_shape= I hope I am not aiding and abetting you in trying to figure out how much your fiancee shelled out for you! From the information you provided, I would guess anywhere from $2500 to $4750. Cut quality and the type of setting make a lot of difference.

Thanks again Phoenixgirl for providing me those websites. Have you ever heard such thing of a cut quality that falls between H&A and Eightstar? (In term of light return?)
