Have you seen it? SI3 is very likely to have visible inclusions.

A 1.5 carat diamond should be about 7.4 mm, so this diamond has the appearance of a smaller diamond. In addition, the SI3 probably translates to I1 grading at other labs such as GIA or AGS. I think you could do much, much better than this stone.

It also depends upon the price... what is the price of that diamond? Give us your budget and I'm sure you'll get other suggestions.... |

Date: 2/16/2007 3:58:41 PM The reason the stone is so cheap is because of the poor cut.Author: mcblohe The price of this stone is $4900. My budget is about max $6000. I would like a 1.5ct. can i get anything eye clean? Lesson number one, CUT is king. It is the most important thing to focus on. And a well cut 1 ct. stone will face up/look better/bigger than a poorly cut 1.25. ![]() So, I would advise getting the best cut stone you can, which in an I or J is somewhere in the 1.15-1.24 range. And if you go with someone who has a good upgrade policy, you can trade it in down the road. Are you considering online? And if so, here's an example of what you could get. Not saying buy this one, just giving you an idea. http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-183723.htm# ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

EGL Israel is known for soft grading, which means it could be up to 2 color and clarity grades off. Best to stick with GIA and AGS. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

It's better, but I would still stick with AGS or GIA....

They are said to be the strictist of the EGL labs. You could consider one from them, but I personally would have it independantly appraised just to be sure you're getting what you pay for.
