Put it on hold. Or buy it. Or it will be gone again.

Ok gotcha.

So what I am reading is the FIC will have more fire, but a BIC will have more spread.

Hi Roupey. This seems to keep happening to you repeatedly. I'm not sure what the hold-up is, but if you are waiting for the price to go down, it won't.

Please run each of the diamond's stats through the HCA - I assume you know how to do that by now?

Call Good Old Gold and ask them about the diamonds. I thought you were pretty set on buying from JA because of the setting.

Good luck and I hope you will eventually connect with a diamond.

There's a .71 J VS2 at Wink's for 2023.  The H doesn't seem worth the extra few hundred.  The I1 seems expensive.

So are you reccomending the I VS2 from GOG or going elsewhere? GOG has a setting that I have absolutely fell in love with.

Which setting is it?

Of those 3, I think the I VS2 has the best price, though the I1 is tempting.  The I1 if you're trying for something big.

I guess I was just kind of iffy on buying from them because of the lack of information on their website.

Plus being a college kid with little money the upgrade poliicy of GOG is nice.

Does anyone else have an opinion on any of the stones being discussed.

I can't offer advice on the stone, but glad to hear I'm not the only poor (and by poor I mean seriously, I make only enough to live and have to sell everything to buy a ring) college student on here.

Also glad you posted the price of the GOG setting. My GF also likes the antique settings but I never got around to getting a quote from GOG since the form was down. Perhaps I'll look back now that they seem to be cheaper than Whitehouse Bros.

Yeah it stinks being a student. I was set on buynig mine from James Allen, but after seeing the setting I picked on someone else's hand I didnt really care for it. My girlfriend has always loved the antique settings. I just always saw they were way out of my price range.

GOG sometimes takes forever to get back with you. Be patient...

Roupey,
Not sure of your budget but I've found that www.antiqueengagementrings.com is a great site for this style of setting. They come pre-set with stones (really nice and in the same color/clarity range as the other stones you're looking at) and as empty mountings. Some of my favorites are below:

That's Mrs. Hudson_Hawk to you... Over and out.

Very cool. I love the first one.

My budget was about 2300 dollars. The only thing that worries me is some of the Clarity on those diamonds are SI2 and 3. Seems to me like buying through GOG is still a better option.

Oh for the love of kittens. Pick a stone you like... you know what to look for now. Then place it on hold, then ask us if its good. If it is, buy it... if it isn't find another.
