I am looking at a F-SI1 1.6 ct round.  I asked the seller what the stoes measurements are and he replied: 7.53x7.58x4.48mm.  What Do these numbers mean?  The stone is graded by Gemological Appraisal Laboratory of America, Inc.  I checked them out with the Better Business Bureau and they were in god standing.  Has anyone ever heard of them?  The asking price for the stone is $7499.00.  I would like to find out: 1) What the meaurement numbers mean, 2) Is this stone a good deal, 3) What is GAL lab?  Thank you.

smallest diameter x largest diameter x depth

first you must find out what it really is.  then you can find out if it is a fair price.

I am a bit confused by your answer.  What do you mean by "find out what it really is"?

She probably means that the lab is not one of the reputable (? or at least well known) ones, so the stone would have to be independently appraised to find out what the true grade is. Only then could you know if the price is fair. We'd recommend either GIA or AGS labs for reliability and accuracy.
