Did that presentation just stop mid- sentence or did my computer hiccup?  One minute John was there and then....silence...

So far I have enjoyed all the ones I've seen, and think everyone has done a great job, considering!

"It is also important for the State to inculcate in its subjects an aversion to any 'conspiracy theory of history' for a search for 'conspiracies' means a search for motives and an attribution of responsibility for historical misdeeds."

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

Oscar?  Say, isn't that a grumpy kind of fish?

Kenny you're too kind (all of you are).  I'm afraid those of you asking such great questions would have to accept the Oscar, along with the others who are presenting.  I'm so impressed by my peers when I watch their sessions, and the bar will only be raised as we see more experts and guests.

By the way, one of the coolest sessions I saw was in the first days when Leonid brought up and discussed different works of art for a casual crowd (yes I was lurking Leonid).  Fascinating!

There are so many potential applications.  It's an entertaining and symbiotic learning tool...when it spreads remember PS is where you saw it used first.

John

And speaking of spreading...

If you like what John, the Oscar winner, and Wink, the chopped liver, are doing, please do us and Leonid a favor.  He has a vision for this that is phenominal and I believe he will achieve it if you will all tell your friends about it and get them to come see what is happening.  Then start thinking about how you would like to see it used and in what fields.  Tell Leonid, he will be listening.  Got an idea for an improvement?  Tell Leonid, he IS listening and making improvements almost every day.

John and I really want to help Leonid grow this to be huge, not just in Pricescope, but in the world.  Soon there will be others giving regular presentations, and not long after that we presenters will have to stand in line to give a presentation, but what a tremendous thing for you consumers!

Speaking of what do you want, who do you want?  Both John and I are working on bringing great guest speakers to join our presentations.  Is there someone you want to hear from?  We will ask them.  They might say no, but we will keep asking and some of them will say yes.  The future is here, now, at Pricescope!

Wink, I'd really love to learn as much as possible on colored stones. Perhaps you could have a session on sapphires and teach all the important things about them, then next, maybe emeradls, then garnets, etc. It is really fun looking at colored stones and most of us know less about how to purchase them than we do diamonds.

(John, so sorry I missed your presentation! I hope the ability to replay sessions will be available soon!)

Wink I don't think you are chopped at all.
You seem quite intact. hahaha

I just have not seen you on "TV" yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Skippygirl, I'm not a doll; that would be my brother, Ken.

He's a doll.
