Sorry if this has been asked before - I couldn't find anything related in my searches... I have a Megascope reading on a diamond, and I'm wondering about one detail in particular: diam. (7.70 - 7.83) x 4.48 If I understand properly, the (7.70 - 7.83) reading means that at its largest diameter the stone is 7.83mm and at its smallest, 7.70mm. Assuming that this interpretation is correct, is this range bad? I have seen a lot of these numbers posted by others, but I have never seen range as large as .13mm. The diamond scores a 2 on the HCA and is otherwise very nice (price, appearance, etc.). Perhaps I'm over-analyzing ... If it matters, here are the rest of the Megascope stats: 1.63 carat crown angle: 30.9 pavil angle: 40.4 table: 58.2% depth: 57.7% culet: .8% girdle (1.0 - 2.1%) I'd would greatly appreciate any insight on this. Thanks! |

Usually I prefer diameters with a range of +/- 0.08mm... If the stone, as well as the price, is right, then buy it... Noone will notice this variations, once the diamond is set... BTW, the stone looks a bit shallow... _____________ |
