Hi all (first-time poster!), I've been skimming around and I find this to be a great forum. Thanks in advance for your insights. I've got my eye on a Radiant cut diamond, and I have a quote from a local jeweler (that I do trust, by the way): 1.40 I, VS1 (GIA) --> $6750. BUT, I have found this online from dirtcheapdiamonds.com (and similar quotes from other online sources): 1.39 I, VS2, Depth:66.8, Table:62, Polish/Symmetry: VG/VG, 6.0*7.1*4.01 (GIA) --> $4654. That's a $2000 difference, and the only substantive difference is going from a VS1 to a VS2! My local jeweler seems to think this price is just not possible. Any thoughts? Basically, my specs are pretty much narrowed down: 1.35-1.40, H/I, VS1/VS2. Also, I have seen good reviews on "dirtcheap" in this forum, but comments about them are appreciated. Thanks, Mike |
