Hello all!

I have posted here a few times and thought it was time to introduce myself. My name is Jamie (as you can see I wasn''t very original when coming up with a username). I live in Texas and was wondering if there is anyone else on ps around here.

Thanks for making and contributing to this site. It''s great! I have learned so much and I LOVE looking at all of the fabulous bling!!!

Hi Jamie, nice to hear from ya.  Where in Texas are your from?

I'm originally from El Paso.  I remember when I first left Texas on a Greyhound Bus.  It took 48 hours to make it from the west border to the east border!  Texas is a whole country unto itself.

Yeah, we Texans gotta stick together.

Watch out for everyone else, although those New Yorkers have kind of a savage charm you don't find anywhere else.

The Russians that run the joint aren't half bad either.  The Australians are a decent enough bunch, if you can catch them sober, very early in the morning.

Heh heh heh...

Welcome Jamie -

I'm from the OTHER side of Texas from Richard Sherwood. My home town is Texarkana, TX! I live in Baltimore, MD now though. There are a few more Texans around! Lady Kemma lives in Houston. I think RoseAngel also lives in Texas. Glad to have you on the boards!

Welcome Jamie! (from another who was not in a creative mood the day she registered)

"It is also important for the State to inculcate in its subjects an aversion to any 'conspiracy theory of history' for a search for 'conspiracies' means a search for motives and an attribution of responsibility for historical misdeeds."

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

Welcome, Jamie.  I live in RI now, but I grew up in a small town in north central Texas.  I graduated high school in Jacksboro.

Thanks guys (and gals!) for the warm welcome! I didn't realize how many people there were from Texas on here. I thought most of you were from up north. Thanks again!
