Is a 2.7mm 4 prong eternity setting too thick for .75 center stone? |

I loved the setting I tried on. Its .37 carat 4 prong half eternity and it sparkled like crazy. My only concern is that its 2.7mm wide and my center stone will only be .75 carat. Will the thickness and diamonds on the side take away from the center diamond? Do I need a thinner band to pull this off? I do have long fingers so the thinness of the ritani settings get lost on my finger. oh and the center stone will be set in a 6 prong sort of high setting if that makes a difference. tia! |

It's really a matter of personal preference and what type of look you are going for. If you like it that's what counts. Some people prefer really thin bands to high light the stone and others prefer thicker ones for a more blingy look.

My eternity wedding band is 2.5 mm and I think it is very thin. I can picture a 3/4 carat diamond on it easily. .75 carat is not tiny you know. ![]() I would try to try on similarily sized settings with 3/4 carat diamonds in them to be sure you will like it

My 3 stone ring is 2.5mm with a .42 stone. I think with a .75 stone will look fine. 2.7mm is still pretty thin.

I think 2.7 mm is still VERY thin. My wedding band is 2.5 mm and sometimes I think it is too thin to wear alone. I usually pair it up with two 2 mm WG bands.
