I just joined the forum, and I've really enjoyed looking at everyone's rings.  They're all so beautiful!
My boyfriend and I have been looking around for diamonds and settings and I think I've kind of decided what I want.
Does anybody have a square radiant diamond (about 1.5 ct) engagement ring and about a size 6.5 finger?
Would that size look okay on my fat hand?   Okay not fat, plump.  Anyways, I'd LOVE to see your rings!!
Thanks!

Hi LoveLeigh, and welcome!

I love square radiants too!  And I am crazy psycho over this ring: http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=29538&forumID=8&catID=&search=1&searchstring=

Its diamond_girl's, and whenever someone wants to see pics of square radiants, I always direct them to this thread...I just love it!!! It is a gorgeous stone and setting, 1.55 cts, her finger size is 4.75 though.....but still should give you some good ideas....

Good luck!

Well, my radiant is only .86, but I do wear a size 6.5, so here's a few shots- hope this helps.

Hi LoveLeigh!

I love diamond_girl's radiant!!!  And Molly, I swear your diamond keeps looking bigger and bigger.  On your hand it looks well over a carat.

My square radiant is 1.53 carats I SI1.  6.3mmx6.21mmx4.31mm.  It's a very deep stone and has an extremely thick girdle so it faces up more like a 1.2 carat diamond.  I would recommend you look at MANY MANY MANY MANY radiants before you buy.  They're extremely hard to shop for, because there isn't a concrete guideline on dimensions.  I've read that square cuts should be deeper, but I've also read that they should be like the dimensions in diamond_girl's radiant (not deep).  My finger size is 4.5 but my fingers are short and I wanted a thick banded setting.  I don't have very good handshots.  I like to joke sometimes that my hand is the little person's equivalent of "man hands."  They're short and wide.

Good luck shopping LoveLeigh!  Don't be afraid to ask questions!

All your rings are GORGEOUS!!!  They're all so similar to what I want... a square radiant solitare with a platinum micropave setting.  We went to Nathan Alan in the South Coast Plaza in Orange County and found the setting that I want there.  They said that they would set the ring for me and that they have people send in diamoinds all the time.  Since we live in Dallas, TX, would this be a safe thing to do?  Anyways, thanks so much for all your information and advice.  You have no idea what a help this is.

Loveleigh,
I bet a 1.5 ct on your 6.5 finger would look fantastic.  But as Crownjewel mentioned, be sure to look at lots of radiants because each one is sooo different, and it's really hard to know which one will be right for you until you look at it in person.  Even the specs will not tell you the whole story.  I think everyone's I've seen in PS is SO gorgeous though!

Here's mine.  1.23 G SI1 (6.07 x 6.04 x 4.07 mm) on a size 4 finger.  It's in a different setting than the other ones posted here that I know you like, but it's a square radiant nonetheless

Loveleigh --

When I first started looking, I was v. into the antique-y, Tiffany Legacy look but ended up with this! So different, but I love my radiant! Specs - 2.01 center stone, F-G, SI1, size 5ish finger...

Good luck!

I never added my radiant to this thread.  I have a 1.03 carat stone on a size 4 finger.  It's not a normal setting, and not one that many people may like, but I like it.
