I'm interested in purchasing the following stone. It is an emerald cut, and to the eye and under light, it looks unbelievable. Anybody have any comments? What do you think is a fair price for this stone? Unfortunately, I don't have the crown and pavilion angles handy. The GIA cert reads as follows: |

Welcome ![]() If your eyes tell you this diamond is a stunner, then you are part of the way there! Pricing is difficult as it can depend on whether a jeweller has this rock, or an online vendor. Jewellery stores are almost always priced higher. You can use this chart to check out it's proportions http://diamonds.pricescope.com/fnc2.asp Going by this chart, it looks like the table is large, but it depends on what you find beautiful personally... also use the search tool to get more of a feel for prices here. http://www.pricescope.com/panning.aspx ![]() Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the memory lives on because an enormous part of his owner's heart, soul, very existence dies also...but that can never be laid to rest, it is not meant to be... - Stephanie M Thorn |

The most similar stone I could find online is this 2.33 F VS2 emerald for sale on Blue Nile for under $24k. The table does seem large. It falls outside of the range automatically filled in for emerald stones here on PS -- I had to increase the number to see if any similar stones showed up. Keep in mind that cut can affect a price as well.

Thanks for your help! Yeah, that is what I'm trying to figure out. The table and depth size are quite larger than anything else I've seen, and I'm trying to determine how that impacts the price of the stone. Proportionally, it seems on par (ratio-wise) to stones that have smaller tables and depths. I'm trying to understand how the cut impacts the price. Any advice on how influence of table-size/depth ratio impacts price? Thanks Again!

In rounds, 40-50% of price. Haven't the foggiest about fancies, probably less than that since standards are less defined.
