Thanks to Jamie, Chris, John Q., Leslie and Niel Beaty (Denver Appraiser) for working with me on this upgrade. Leon @ WF did a fabulous job of setting the stone beyond my expectation. I upgraded from 1.6 H-SI1 to 2.04 G-SI2 (luckily more eye-clean than my previous SI1). I am so in love with the ring! Here are some pictures.

Beautiful! Congrats!

"It is also important for the State to inculcate in its subjects an aversion to any 'conspiracy theory of history' for a search for 'conspiracies' means a search for motives and an attribution of responsibility for historical misdeeds."

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

Beautiful stone!!  The mount is almost identical to mine and I've always felt it to be very secure.   I feel you'll enjoy this ring, very much

sparkle, i love your new ring!! it looks flat edged, is that right? i have a flat w-ring and i would love to get a flat e-ring if i ever go plain solitaire so it would match. also the head is similar to my stuller but i love how they notched out the band to fit the head a bit lower but not too low. perfection!! what finger size are you, that 2c looks huge!

Thanks all for your kind words.

Mara, you have the eyes of an eagle. It is the same head as yours. The band is so called "half round", kind of flat looking but it is the most comfortable ring I have had. My ring size is 4 3/4, but I have "petite" hands so the 2ct looks pretty substantial.

Shay, the setting is a combination of things: half-round band with "donut" and Stuller head like Mara's. I was shooting for the "Tiffany" look but with comfort and low profile in mind.

OH! OH! OH!

GORGEOUS diamond and GORGEOUS setting!  I *adore* it!   YUM-O!

What are the specs of the diamond?  How wide is the width of the ring shank?

Lynn

PS  Don't forget to add it to the "2-3 carat" and the "SI stones" threads!

ETA:  I'm a size 4.75, too, with a similar sized diamond, and wah, wah -- YOURS looks BIGGER to me!  How CAN that be???!  DARN that blasted DSS!!!!      (My husband says I have DIAMOND ANOREXIA!)

And THAT'S my story and I'm sticking to it!
