I see posts of people upgrading their diamond studs, but no one that I have seen mentions what they do with their old ones...
So, what have you done with your old studs?

Hopefully, they got their studs through a vendor w/ a lifetime trade-up policy!

And THAT'S my story and I'm sticking to it!

Well my first pair was bought locally, they ripped me off and the jeweler is dead. No upgrading there. But I'm trying to sell them on my own, which I'll probably have no luck. Might give them to a niece.

I'm now with a company who has a great upgrade policy.

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

if I ever get newer ones I'll give these to my daughter... and if I don't, I guess I'll leave them for a granddaughter if I have one!

I still have my original ones too.....  .5TCW from a mall jeweler.  I got .7TCW from Whiteflash about 2 years ago.  They're not much bigger but the sparkle difference was amazing.  My plan has been to use the original diamonds to make some sort of dangle earring jacket like these below.  So far, I haven't gotten it done, but that's what I'm thinking....

These are from another PS member...can't remember who but I loved the idea.

Oh I really like that.  What is the center stone?

Of course if the studs really don't sparkle I'd try to sell them rather than reset them.
