Hiya! Sooooooo, because we all love enabling each other around here.....

What jewelry piece are you currently obsessing over? For me, it's the prospect of owning a blingy shared-prong eternity band that I could wear either with my Leon ring or alone. I still love that beautiful 1.7mm wide french cut baguette ring at Dianne's, but I can't justify that price for a ring that is SO tiny (and almost invisible next to my e-ring). I just talked to Isaac at Facets (very nice guy!) and he gave me a quote for 2 bands: one with 16-pointers and another with 20-pointers in shared-prong settings. My reaction to the quotes was "Ouch!" but it's still a little more reasonable than the number I was given at Derco. I'm thinking the only way this ring will be palatable to my husband is if I bundle my birthday-anniversary-Christmas gifts together!

I need a less expensive obsession!!!

I'm wanting a titanium tension set ring... I'm graduating college and the traditional college ring is so ewww to me.  The bold, daring looks of the titanium tension set will remind me of this phase of my education as a structural engineer and the fact that it's such an engineered ring is perfect.  Plus... there's lots of room to get stuff engraved on it.  I'm not sure if I want to go with a round center or a pear and so I've been searching for stones.  That's my current want.

... and I want to get my earring put into a very thin bezel setting that leaves the back a bit more open.  The basket is hard to clean and I feel like the edges aren't protected(not that they really need to be in earrings).

... and a seven stone ring is wanted as well.  About .30 to .40cts each stone.  I got a few quotes but the stock settings weren't really doing it for me and the custom quotes were a bit more than what I wanted to spend.  I suspect I will be getting this ring for Christmas from a special someone but I don't think I'm supposed to know that.  LOL!

I would really like to have a diamond eternity band or semi-eternity band. I was a few of them so I can stack them. Maybe in different colors of gold.

A second 3/4 eternity band to match my wedding ring and serve as a bookend to my ering.  I think I have to wait either 3 or 5 years for an anniversary though...darnit!

KristyDarling, would you mind saying what your quote from leon was for the metal work?  I'm currently lusting over making a 5-stone ring to look like a blingy eternity band from the top with .30-.33 stones.  I've contacted WF about stones, so we'll see what they come up with.  I'd really love leon to make it, but I don't know if he is out of my price range.  When I figure out exactly what I want for metal work I'll ask for a quote.

ooops, I just realized you asked facets for a quote to go with your leon...sorry about that.  Any idea how much it might be though?  I was thinking around 1900-2400 (not including stones)...but I really don't know how much leon costs.

I recently fell hard for an antique EC eternity band at local B&M. I never thought I was an eternity girl, but the depth on the EC's is incredible. It's dainty and deep, all at once!

Hi K! Actually, my quote was from Facets. For a size 4 ring in platinum, shared-prong full eternity, 16 to 17-pointers all around, 2.88 cttw, it's $4950. With 20-pointers, 3.4cttw, it's $5950. I'm leaning towards the 2.88cttw band for obvious reasons. I'm hoping it can be my birthday/anniversary/Christmas gift this year. (ETA: quotes are for the whole ring, diamonds and metal)

Leon's pricing can be surprisingly reasonable. I haven't seen much of his work in terms of eternity bands, but I'm sure his are gorgeous. Definitely give him a call when you're ready.

I don't want much:

A 10 carat or so Marquise
An old original bona fide certified Asscher
A Royal Asscher - any size will do
A 10 carat or so Tanzanite

I'm in agony waiting for my 3-sided pave eternity band to arrive.  That is my jewelry lust at the moment.  After it arrives next week and is on my hand, I'm sure I will have moved on to something new.

Yeah....I'd take CZJ's marquise in a heartbeat

....and an intense yellow asscher wouldn't hurt either! LOL

KD!  It's getting hard to keep up with your eternity band cravings!   Maybe what your really need is a big blingy one AND the teeny Frenchcut one...then you'll have all occasions covered!

LOL because of you I am lusting over the french cut baguette ring too!!  I have seriously been dreaming about it and a Ritani Endless Love band... I don't know how I will ever decide!  ::sigh:: my SN really fits, doesn't it?  I am really surprised that my fiance fell in love with the french cut ring as well.  I can see what you mean about it with your ring though.  Fortunately (well kind of unfortunately) my e-ring is a lot smaller than yours so I think it could look more balanced.  PS is such a dangerous site for jewelry lust!

Ooooooh, Lisa. I can't wait to see your oval, and then your finished Leon masterpiece!!! I'm getting all sweaty just thinking about it!

Indecisive -- I'm so glad that you like that french cut bag ring!!! The pictures on Doyle's really don't do it justice. The only way it would look truly "right" with my ring is if I bought two of them stacked. And DH is not really on board with that (though I still haven't ruled that idea out!)

MrsS -- I have been in agony waiting for you to set your stone!! I'm sure that whatever you choose is going to be spectular and well-worth the loooong wait! You have the patience of a saint!

Widg -- Ha! BOTH bands?? I wish. DH is (understandably) still recovering from the sticker shock of my 3-stone ring so I'll be picking just one, thank you very much. (Although there's always next year, hehe.)

I have a very sweet .50 RB, G or H, SI1 that was my Mom's, I inherited about 23 years ago, and it's currently sitting in a very 80's YG swirl setting. Friends say it looks nice in the setting, but I'm itching to get it redone. Alas, working on wedding plans (read spending lots of $$'s) and can't seem to justify the cost right now.

I do shop around for ideas, and I was wondering what you thought of a halo setting, that I could wear on my right hand?  Maybe I can get HTB to have it set for our first anniversary?  He denies me nothing, I'm such a lucky lady...but I can wait another year or so...in the meantime, I can dream...

Well, my list isn't too long or impractical.  I've also had eternity band lust right now.  I really want a tiny, tiny one (.50ish) for fun to go with my etoile band RHR or with my ering for extra bling.  I also want a band of 5 .10 stones for my "pool" ring.  That's my silly nickname for it.  I told DH I needed a little ring to wear when I take the kids to the pool.  I hate wearing my ering there, but, I hate not wearing a ring.  I've also been SERIOUSLY wanting a 2+ct oval (yes, I'm dying to see Kaleigh's).  I really want it set in a solitaire and have an oval eternity or w band with east/west set ovals around the band.  Dimend Scassi has one and I've been obsessed with!  I'm begining to lose my patience, though.  We just moved into a new house at the beach so there's not a lot of $ for the diamond fund with the monster house payment...and decorating it...and furnishing it...and the yard...on the list goes.  DH tells me I'm Veruca Salt from the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, "I WANT IT NOW!!!"  It's so true!!!
