I was debating between 2 diamonds, see my other post So I got the first diamond with me now to see. These again are the specs: HRD certificate, Carat Weight: 0.79 ct Clarity: VS2 Colour: G Measurements: 5.93 mm x 6.00 mm x 3.64 mm Flouresence: nil Proportions: very good (top HRD rating) Girdle: medium 3% faceted Culet: pointed Total Depth: 61% Table width: 58% Crown Height: 15.0% Pavillion depth: 43.0% Finish Grade: very good (top HRD rating) Comments: Hearts & Arrows Pics: (click to see bigger versions) ![]() ![]() Hearts ![]() Arrows - had a bit of trouble taking this pic ![]() ![]() I don't have a Sarin report, I can get one done for a cost of $35 locally. EDIT: Got the SARIN done....see below. What do you all think of this diamond. Is it a keeper, or should i still consider the other diamond on my original post. (I prefer the lager size (.79 vs .70) over the better colour (G vs F) if all things are fairly equal otherwise) Thanks! |

Nice photography work! This diamond appears to be very beautiful and well-proportioned. It might help some of the others judge the stone better with crown and pavillion angles from a sarin, but ultimately the decision comes down to whether you love it or not. It might come down to hairsplitting.

kcoursolle thanks. it took a lot of playing around with the setting on my digital to get the pics to come out properly. pinkrose because my diamond had the hearts/arrows noted on the HRD certificate, the place i bought it from gave me a free scope to that i would be able to see the patterns - which is were the red pics come from. to take the pics, i just put the lens of my camera against the viewing piece and clicked away. thanks for all the comments so far. i definitely am leaning towards keeping it. keep em coming!

Thanks for all the comments so far. I went and got the SARIN done today also as i was feeling a bit paranoid. The Sarin did confirm what i thought, AGS 1 grade here are the details: weight: .790ct diameter: 5.98mm (5.93-6.01mm) total depth: 60.7% (3.63mm) table size: 57.7% (3.45mm) AGS 1 crown angle: 35.4 AGS 0 pavillion angle 40.7 AGS 0 pavillion depth 42.8% (2.56mm) culet: 0.2% (pointed) AGS 0 girdle min: 0.8% thin AGS 0 girdle max: 1.8% sl.thick AGS 0 gridle avg: 1.2% thin AGS 0 Proportion Grade: 1 VG Based on this HCA score: 1.8 (VG/EX/VG/VG) So what do you think? Still worth keeping or keep looking?
