Dear all you diamond experts out there, I'm a diamond rookie who's been perusing these forums for a bit looking to find a nice stone for my fiancee's engagement ring. I'm currently looking at this stone: ![]() I've been trying to find a good combination of a pretty stone that is eye clean but is a good value for the price as well. The price I'll be paying will be about $3950. I realize that it has medium fluorescence, but since its a G and the sales lady assures me that it is not milky, then it hopefully should be ok- I'll have to take a look at it when it arrives. What do you all think? Deal or not? thanks for the tips, DM_Rookie

Buying then looking- but there is a good return policy if it doesn't quite work out. Thanks for the reply!

Sing's Jewelery in Torrance, CA at the Del Amo Mall has a very similar stone, but an 'E' for a little bit more. 1.03 E SI2, eye clean. I'm not in the market for a 1ct, or I would have considered it. Ask for Charles, he's a really great guy to deal with and loves to chat about diamonds in person. I'm getting my setting from him. Lawrence

It is on the small side for a 1 ct, probably face up like a .95, because of the thick girdle.

Welcome to PS![]() This diamond might be a winner and be very attractive. You could search for one with tighter specs but it doesn't sound as if you are looking for a Superideal Cut, but a well cut and pretty diamond. There are things about this diamond which could be improved on, but as the price is right it might be worth investigating further. It will face up slightly smaller than a 1 ct, but not terribly so. ![]() Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the memory lives on because an enormous part of his owner's heart, soul, very existence dies also...but that can never be laid to rest, it is not meant to be... - Stephanie M Thorn |
