You were all so great when I was picking out this e-ring for my girlfriend (now finace) that we're turning to you once again for guidance.

I've already got something up my sleeve for her wedding band but we're trying to find my ring this time. Does it help at all that I know exactly what I want ?

Plat. ring. Flat with beveled edges. 7mm width, size 9.5-10 (I'll double check). I'm not into flashy jewelry for myself... no sparkles here. I don't need to worry about color, clarity, scintilation, any of it this time around

While looking around town we found a Benchmark ring that I liked very much. Only issue is that it wasn't offered in a 7mm size, only 6 and 8. 6 was too narrow and my fiance said it looked feminine on me and the 8 was too large and felt like... well that's the point... I could feel it. Here it is: With the expense of the wedding and having recently moved and bought a new house, I'd like to save my fiance whatever I can. The Billbarnes price is considerably cheaper than the B&M here in town, has anyone dealt with them before?

I also found this one online. I noticed that I can get the satin finish (no super shiny for me please) in the center for a $10.00 fee. I don't think I'm too entirely find of this ring though. The center between the bevel looks too narrow or something. The price here also worries me. $1,000.00 vs. $1,600.00 for the Benchmark. Do I need to call and see what the Plat. weight is in both rings? Am I paying for name with Benchmark? Is there even a name in Benchmark?

I'd really like to find the exact same ring as that Benchmark but available in a 7mm size. Do any of you recall having seen something like that? Any idea where I might look?

Thank you all for any help you might provide again. I know my fiance thanks you all for helping me create that shiny ring up top for her too

I really like what mrss. posted.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It is also important for the State to inculcate in its subjects an aversion to any 'conspiracy theory of history' for a search for 'conspiracies' means a search for motives and an attribution of responsibility for historical misdeeds."
-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State
John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880
"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....
The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."
That's a good looking ring but I'm not a fan of the scroll/millgrained part. Has anyone seen something similar to the one I posted? Is Benchmark a decent brand? I might just have to settle for the 6mil. ring they have if I can't find something close in 7mil.
Have you checked into any of Scott Kay's designs?  I know Bailey, Banks, and Biddle carried SK as well as www.pearlmansjewelers.com.  7mm is a tough size, but maybe you can have it custom made?  Something like this from S. Kay I thought was nice...
I know you wanted a beveled edge, but I saw this one and it's nice. It's an A.Jaffe ring.
Or, this one. This is similar to what my husband will be wearing. This is platinum A.Jaffe.. AND it's comfort fit!
Thank you all for your help. I have rethunk my ring a little and decided to ask my fiance for a tungsten ring vs. platinum. Because my fiance has not had the same fortune I have experienced in my life it's not fair for me to request a platinum ring, because I know she would buy it for me in a heartbeat . I know I have seen several vendors listed that offer similar rings in the $200-300 range. I love the color of the tungsten material, and if done with a satin center and polished beveled edges it can obtain the two tone look I like. This material should hold up to my abuse and I prey that it as well as my marriage will last a lifetime.
My fiances e-ring is not on her finger today and she's a tab bit upset. I hope, on our wedding day, she'll be able to forgive me . I've shipped it off to WF to have them create a custom, platinum, 7 stone, shared prong wedding band to sit next to her e-ring .
Thanks again for all your help.
Take care.
