Has anyone taken a look at this banner ad that appears on PS from time to time?  They have some really nice stuff.

I love this plat band, swirled with blue diamonds that they are showing.  I notice they have no prices, which sort of scares me.

Anyone familiar with this company?

On the website it says a 3mm platinum band swirled with .79 of fancy coloured blue diamonds is $4480.
I'm oh so wanting one of his starlight bands

I feel 100 times more comfortable when there are published prices.

I feel that the vendor has to do a lot of homework and will only publish a fairly competitive price.

Still you should price shop, but when no prices are listed I'm hesitant to even bother checking.

Here is the "Customise your band" link where you can get the price according to specifics.

that is a cool system.

I think Etienne could make it a little more clear on his website that the diamonds are natural but treated for the colors though.

I noticed it today--love many of his pieces on the website. very interesting and modern without looking cold. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Camden, Maine, but I don't recall seeing the shop (in 1998). Wish I had now.

My husband bought me a ring on a vacation in Door County from an upscale boutique-type store, J. Jeffrey Taylor , in Fish Creek, WI. The owner makes jewelry himself, I believe, but also sells other designer pieces.

Anyway, the ring he gave me looks very similar to the ones on Etienne Perret's site: satin finish gold band with burnished colored diamonds (white, yellow, blue and green, I believe). I checked it today for a hallmark, but there's nothing besides a gold marking and some unidentifiable symbol. I _just_ threw the box away a month ago or so (organizing my life), and can't remember who the designer was. I thought the shop told me it was from a designer in Florida.

I wonder...but doubt it's one of Perret's.

Gary,
I will work on adding more information on the nature of the diamonds. The fact that these are natural diamonds, not synthetic and that they have been color treated by electron bombardment and heat annealing to give them the extraordianary colors that for the most part are not available in natural color diamonds.
Thanks for the suggestion.

As a jeweler it is just as easy to make a ring in rose gold as yellow gold.
I would say 18kt rose gold is easier to work with than 18kt white gold in many aspects. Unfortunately mass marketers have to think in terms of the broader market, so they make the rings in the material that is most likely to sell the best. Special order designers can make you your dream ring in white gold, rose gold, platinum, palladium, etc. Some of the most tallented can even work in steel, titanium, tungstun carbide or ceramic. If you are looking for the really special it is worth doing your research on line to find out where you can get the unusual.
