Just lost a diamond on my wedding band.  i have been wearing it a month now and it already popped out! It is one on the back side, under my fingers.  The frustrating part is that a diamond popped out of my ering after a month as well.  My jeweler put that one in right away no charge.  The problem is that I have since relocated to LA, she is not convenient.  Now i have to find someone new, and hope they dont charge me a fortune.  Its just a pointer, so it cant be too nuch $$$$, right?

What a bummer.  The labor will probably cost more than the stone, stones that size don't cost much.  Have them check the rest of the stones to make sure they aren't loose too.

Oh...been there! My jeweler too replaces them for free. Maybe, just maybe you can find a local jeweler (in your new city) who will be willing to extend that policy in hopes you will buy from them and make them your new jeweler.

I'm looking into buying a pave. Do you think it'll be safe to buy a pave setting for both the e-ring and w-band?

Bummer - when that happened to me the most upsetting part was not getting to wear my ring til I got it fixed! I hope you can get it fixed soon with minimal cost. Good luck!

Oh geez, I  have been there too.  My asscher right hand ring has lost a few stones over time ( melee stones ). The stones are replaced for free, but the heart ache of sending it off wondering if it will get stolen each time makes me crazy.  I  worry about it getting back to me safely etc..      It's been a PITA, and now have decided to wear it for special occassions only.   Not what I envisioned when I had it made.  I am very delicate on my jewelry, but pop goes the weasel happens to the best of us.  Ughhh.  I feel your pain.

it's one of the downsides to pave. sometimes it's due to workmanship other times a tiny prong/bead holding in the stone gets knocked and pop, there goes the stone. It shouldn't be a huge deal for you to find a jeweler to replace it and I wouldn't think it would be very expensive at all.

A deal is only a deal if you are getting exactly what you want.

Welcome to PS!  I'd say it is safe to buy them, but just be aware that many people have stones fall out. You just have to judge if that would bother you to deal with. And it would help if you did buy from a local jeweler who'd agree to replace the lost stones for free. I would not want to have to send a ring in the mail everytime I lost a little stone. You'd be without the ring too long!  I will admit that the stories of lost stones did discourage me a little from getting pave.

~~~ When in doubt...don't.~~~
idealistic...for me personally i don't think i'd get pave done anywhere but locally or go with a designer setting where they can assist me locally. i just cannot deal with having to mail off my ring once or twice a year if something goes wrong and pave does seem to take a hit sometimes. esp if you are hard on your hands/settings like i think i am. but if a B&M was handling it or whatever for me that'd be easier.
sorry to hear this mrs flutter!!! hope it's easy to get taken care of.
