Woo hoo, she's starting her wedding dress search. She told me she found one locally that she likes but would also like to search online. Any good websites? Also she's decided to wear a Chinese dress for the reception. Anyone know of any good websites for these?

She should try Pearl's Place www.pearlsplace.com (they can order most gowns for a lot less than you'd pay at a local b&m), and if she's ok with having a replica made or wants something custom done, she could try www.juliusbridal.com.

Watters & Watters has a variety of gowns, most under 2K. Wedding planning sites like The Knot and Brides.com have lots of gown images. Is she looking to buy online, or for inspiration? Old thread with chinese dress info here. and from saturn "If you want to go with an Asian look, check out the "Special Qipao" section of efushop.com. They have a pretty decent selection of dresses with handpainted or embroidered flowers like you described. Not to toot my own horn too much, but here is a picture of the dress that I ordered for my rehearsal dinner. It's white silk with handpainted cherry blossoms along one side, custom-made to my measurements. It was really pretty, and I got a lot of compliments on it"

Hi mercoledi, can you post a picture of your dress? I think looking online is partly for inspiration and partly for cost comparison. Choices in Hawaii are limited and can be pricey. I think she's pretty psyched about wearing a qipao/cheongsam for the reception. So thanks everyone for all the suggestions.
