Sorry Storm - I missed this. We made a few small modifications. 1. the pink reflector is cone shaped so when people use it incorrectly in low light the pink is more correctly reflected to the stone 2. The shape encourages people to hold it without blocking so much of the light that gets trhu the translucent plastic. 3. We used a much smaller lens and simpler assembly which makes it a little less costly ($65 including a calibration CZ) 4. The focal point for some people was inside the reflector on the old version - and this could mean pink was able to enter the pavilion on some stones. The focal plane for most people is now about 2mm past the end of the reflector. 5. The lens quality is every bit as good as the old Expert. BTW we have put some effort into our new ASET scope reference chart which is on the site under "Using Ideal-scope" I would appreciate opinions on it please. Garry Holloway FGAA DipDT |

Thanks for your comments on the ASET reference stuff Storm. Actually it prints well (I just tried it). You have to tilt the paper to make the movies (ha ha ha) but it prints the whole 3 pages. We will make a version that prints only the top 4 photo's and the DiamCalc images beneath the. Thanks for the suggestion Storm. Also we want to put a 'Bad' stone up - but we have not found one bad enough - which is a good sign :-) Garry Holloway FGAA DipDT |

bTW, not sure if I ever mentioned that we have placed a video (center top left) on the ideal-scope home page. If any of you have good relationships with B&M stores who deal in better cut stones and they want some way to differentiate their store without watering down their own history or 'brand' - please recomend this video to them. It shows a very simple way to demonstrate and sell well cut diamonds (set and loose) that I know for a fact works well. And it is almost free. Garry Holloway FGAA DipDT |
