In a K color diamond will Strong Blue flourescence be visible to the naked eye? I know that flourescence balances the lower colors, but do lower colors lessen flourescence? Thanks Jackie S

I do not believe the body color of a diamond reduces the percieved amount of Fluorecence. Garry Holloway FGAA DipDT |

Hi, Fluorescence may make a lower color appear better to the naked eye, as long as it is not too strong. The lower the color doesn't effect the amount of fluorescence in a stone. It seems that some lower colored diamonds are more apt to have fluorescence from what I have seen over many years-just my opinion. Cindy Cindy Konney, GG, RJ, ICGA |
