Has anyone had any luck with QVC''s Affinity Diamond jewelry? They''re lower quality for sure, because they provide no info on diamond quality, but I wonder whether they still have sparkle and look good. There are a lot of old posts from a few years ago asking the same question, but noone really knew anything. Any help out there?

With so many major websites providing information about grading of what they sell, it appears rather interesting why they wouldn''t provide such information.

I suspect that the information would show that the what there selling isn''t as good as others, so better not to say anything, in order to get it sold, hoping that uninformed purchasers buy the stuff ( which they do!).

So, with so many sellers that are forthcoming with describing the quality of what they sell, why even think about purchasing from someone who doesn''t????????

The temptation of getting a bargain, rarely works out in the buyer''s favor. You GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.... sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, but it almost consistently works in the seller''s favor, rather than the buyer''s favor.

Rockdoc''s advice for making a decision....... "When in DOUBT.... DON"T!!!!!

I have some earrings that have little melee stones. They are not great quality and you can even see some carbon without a loupe but they are pretty, good design, lots of sparkle and I get lots of compliments. I thin as long as like RockDoc said "you get what you pay for" and you are okay with that (not expecting more) than go for it. They have a decent return policy.

The quality is not fantastic, but the stones do have sparkle, and one thing about QVC is that they have an unbeatable return policy, 30 days, no questions asked. They will even refund your shipping and handling charges, which is virtually unheard of. If you really like the design, take a chance. You lose nothing.

I wish you well,

Bridget

Thanks for the input, everyone. I was surfing for some silver jewelry and QVC popped up. I went there and noticed the link for "Affinity Diamonds," which I assumed were synthetics. Then I read QVC''s blurb that says they are natural. But, with no grading info, I''ve got to wonder about the quality.

Here''s the ring I was looking at: http://www.qvc.com/asp/frameset.asp?focus=/asp/OrderListRedirect.asp?cont=mhsc&cm_re=PAGE-_-CS-_-SHOPPINGCART

It looks terrible to me in the photo, but okay on the model''s hand. . . then again, it''s a pic from far away. And $340 for 1 whole carat''s worth? I''ve got to wonder.

Still, the bargain-hunter in me can''t resist. If their return policy is liberal, I may take a chance. Yes, bargain-hunting and diamonds don''t mix!

Here''s a ring on Overstock I was looking at, but it''s I1 clarity! I have never seen a pave-type ring with I1 clarity. The H-I color doesn''t bother me, but I''ve got to wonder how bad the I1 really is. http://www.overstock.com/?page=proframe&prod_id=731454 Any thoughts? The reviewers seem to like the ring, but who knows what they like? I like a lot of sparkle and can''t stand a cloudy look, even for tiny diamonds.

Thank you, RockDoc for your sage advice, which is helping to wake up the bargain-hunter in me to reality. I do have serious doubts about the QVC ring.... It would be like buying a car with no knowledge of engine specs, etc...okay, maybe that''s a bad comparison, but you know what I mean.

There is little risk. If you love it, buy it, you can always return it. Ebay is risky, this is not.
