I just started posting to this forum, although I've been lurking for a while. I've picked up a lot of great info on diamond cut here and at the vendor sites recommended, especially goodoldgold. I am planning on buying a marquise diamond from an online vendor (can't beat the prices and tired of retail jewelry store sales people who can't tell me much more about cut than the shape of the stone), but I am trying to find a jeweler in San Diego who has a large selection of platinum solitaires and can set the stone for me. I had some interest in the Vatche royal crown setting, but Robbins Bros is the only authorized retailer in this area and I have had horrible, stressful shopping experiences there and would never buy anything from them.
