Personally I think princess cuts are hard to judge by numbers alone and Blue Nile does not provide a lot of information. For a stone that large I would certainly want to know everything I could and if I were to rely on Blue Nile sight unseen I would at least choose one of their Signature Ideal cuts. Also I'm not sure that I would be comfortable with I color in a princess cut diamond of that size, but that's just me.

yeah i would agree, focus on a signature ideal if you have to purchase from blue nile.. but also check around. WF has a new line of amazingly cut princesses, but not sure if they have any 3c stones. i saw a 2c stone and a bunch of others on our visit in may and it really made me love square cuts! so much light return. other vendors like GOG, ERD, Wink all carry princess stones as well. I think Wink carries the newish AGS0 princesses which are a knockout as well. there are lots of options to get a well-cut princess, i would not pidgeonhole yourself with Blue Nile and their limited info. an idealscope is a MUST for a princess in my opinion, you have to see the light return of the stone. ________________________________ |
