Fun times, we all hope!  Did your pretty ring get to make it there with you?

Yes it did!!! We just got back -- how great to go on these short, sweet trips every once and a while. Last night we did a dinner cruise on the lake and then found a fun place with great music to go play pool at (and dance a bit)...this morning after breakfast we got massages at the spa and then walked around the downtown shops for a long time (I always pick up something for the boys whenever I go *anywhere* -- they are SO spoiled!) and then we went up to the mountain tower that overlooks everything, which was scary/cool. 21 stories up (that's nothing to you big city girls, I know, but a bit weird for me!) -- plus the fact that it's on top of a mountain.

quick ps -- still didn't have the ring on yet -- he was going to give it to me this morning on the balcony, but I had a tad bit of a hangover and the sun was killing me [], so he nixed that plan.

It started raining and I was worried that we wouldn't get to go to the botanical gardens there (this is where his cousin is planning on getting married and they've told us we needed to visit), but it stopped as quickly as it started. So we got there and I was all happy at this point b/c I knew he was holding onto the ring to make it special, and when we got to the poi pond, there was a little island in the middle he really wanted to go out to (we had some stepping stones to get there with, not like we had to wade or swim, but still....) And we watched the fish for a bit, and then he asked "do you want this back now?" and I was all giddy and nodding "yes yes yes" and he got down on his knee (which he actually didn't do the 1st time) and asked me "would you marry me? for like the 8th time??" it was cute and we both laughed, but we hugged and kissed again like it was the first time. Very romantic

The ring is back where it belongs, the prongs look tight and the head is sitting straight now. so everything is happy Sorry for the long post, but it felt like getting engaged all over again!

jen
ps Fisher, thanks for thinking of me

Yes!! Less than a week. We leave in the middle of the night on Friday/Saturday. I'm soooo excited, but I still have a lot to do. I don't think it's quite settled in that I'm leaving the country.  It should be a good time. K bought me a rain jacket at the Helly Hansen store this weekend since he is in Portland (no sales tax!!)

I'm a little sad that I won't be a fiance before then, but I'm trying to just focus on that it'll be a good time, even though it's totally out of my comfort zone. We have so many fun things planned. Thanks for thinking about me Jen.

I looks like you'll still be the keeper of this list through Labor Day at the very least if you really want to be the one to take my name of the list.  Oh, and I think he's been doing some planning (on accident, I clicked on the "Favorites" button on his computer) do you think I should make a new post?

I've decided that it was a horrible idea. I erased the post.

Sk8rjen, sorry for the mini hijack. Thanks for the good wishes for my trip.

Yay!! I'm so glad you got your ring back in time for your weekend trip and that he did something special to give it back to you. Hopefully it wont have to leave your finger again! Sounds like it was a lovely weekend all around.

Thanks fisher, seattle, anchor and rhapsody! I've been back on cloud 9 since Sunday

Seattle -- you didn't "hijack," I asked! I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip -- sounds like you will definitely be keeping busy -- and I hope you get your sparklie immediately upon return (if not sooner!) I think you should have your own thread, whether it's your old one or a new one -- you KNOW it's coming!! Anyway, I LIKE being in charge of the list, so don't worry about that part I'll keep the list until somebody officially kicks me out of here!

Rhapsody -- have you sent your ring yet? oh, it's just terrible w/o it, but the sooner you do it, the sooner you get it back. I hope they don't mes up again, though.

I've been wondering what was wrong with your ring, jen... Why did you have to send it back?

I dont know if you caught my post in Anchors thread but I havent been able to send the ring back yet. The jeweler basically refused to send it to Tacori, insisting the porosity was not a big issue (and claiming thats why 3 people louped my ring and didn't see or mention anything, it couldn't possibly be their incompetence ) and said they could fix it. I told them I wasn't letting their jewelers come within 10 feet of my ring again since they've shown many times they don't know what they're doing.

I emailed Tacori but all I get from them is "I'm sorry you're having a bad experience, thanks for making us aware of the situation" . At this point I need to find another store that carries Tacori. It would void the warranty jareds offers but I doubt they'd even know the ring had been worked on. The only one near by is the BB&B but the few times I've been in there they treated me like sh*t so I'm loathe to go there.

And at this point I dont really trust the jewelers at Tacori. Theres a few annoying cosmetic problems with my ring I was willing to overlook but between those issues and the porosity I know it needs to be recast and I'm afraid they'll make the damn thing wrong again. Hopefully not 3 times this time around

So long story short, still havent sent it in and not sure when I'll be able to

I'm glad your sparkly is in good shape now. I LOVE your avatar picture

Rhapsody -- thanks! I like my avatar better now too -- lots of PURPLE and sparklies I DID see your post in that thread, I was just hoping by now you'd gotten someone who actually cared to fix the problem (not make it worse!) You've had such a tough time with this ring -- I hope you find a solution soon!
