I am considering both of the diamonds below. The main difference is the color. My question is that when mounted do you guys think that the .91 will be worth the extra 2k? I am looking to buy a house soon as well and if the diamonds will look very similar I will save the money. To me they both look like they are cut very well but I am a diamond newbie. If the .91F will blow the .84I away then I will get it. Links are below. Thanks .91F .84I |

It says the "I" is sold, so I like the .91 F

BTW - If you want to save money, but really want the F...try VS2 or Si1 stones in clarity. Also, there are G & H color stones to look at too. F to I might yield some difference, but going F to G probably is not noticable for most.

The .84 says sold because they are holding it for me. I like the setting whiteflash has and they do not have any stones in house for me to see that are G H in color. I like how you can see all the reports on the in house whiteflash diamonds.... are there other sites that show this detail? <------- Newbie

I would recommend if you have the means to buy both. You can look at them for 10 days and return the one you do not like. You can return both if you want for WF to set the stone. Put them on credit at the start of your billing cycle. This gives you 30 days to buy the stone, look at it for 10 days, and then get the return check to pay the card. Other option is to have both sent to an appraiser to view. I am in the process of comparing an H and an F. I sent both to an appraiser and then bought both to look at in my home. Here are the pro vs cons: Both: You pay shipping whether you buy it or send it to an appraiser. Appraiser: It costs money, but you get to have an independent non-sales talk about the stone. You do not have to "front" the money for the purchase. They also have neat equipment like a microscope for you to view the inclusions. Buy it: No extra cost, just front the dough. No special equipment except what you have at home. If you get a WF ACA stone they send a nice bag of goodies to use on the stone. I recommend the visual inspection only because I recently looked at 4 of the WF ideal stones. 3 ACA's and a ES. All were very nice, but each had a different look. It is like different flavors of ice cream. Do you like pinfire, broadfire, a mix of both, more fire, more brilliance (constant white light). Each causes a different visual effect. If you do not want to see them first then: If you are not sure what you like then go to a store and ask to see some well cut stones. Ask for ones with fire and ones with brilliance. Find out what you like then call WF and ask to speak to Brian Gavin. He is co-owner and a stone cutter. He can not tell you which is best because he is not you. But he can tell you which stone shows more of the characteristics you like.
