Hello everyone, I'm new here and very glad to have found this site. Been lurking here for a couple of weeks. My head is swimming in details, and need a little assistance. From what I've learned here and in the tutorial it looks good, but am nervous about my ability to tell at this point. I have not seen this diamond, but here is the information: RB 1.01 Color - H Grade - VVS2 Fluorescence - Faint Lab: GIA Polish - Excellent Symmetry - Excellent Measurements 6.47 - 6.52 x 3.98mm Table 55.3% Crown Angle 34.7 Crown Height 15.4% Pavil Angle 40.7 Pavil Depth 42.7 % Culet 1.3% Total Depth 61.1% Girdle Thick% 0.7 - 1.2 HCA - 1 Price - $5,600 Also need some clarification on how to find out about light leakage. Thanks. |

I don't think you have to worry too much about light leakage with this stone. It probably is an absolute blazing inferno. An idealscope will show you the amount of light leakage a stone has. You can purchase one through the menu above for $25. Be sure and buy the calibration cz as well. Their info site on the idealscope will clue you in what to look for. I'm posting a DiamCalc computer simulated IdealScope image from the statistics you posted. The results are very good. Light Return (mono)…...: 1.00 Very Good Light Return (stereo)…..: 0.98 Very Good (Non) Leakage (mono)..: 0.98 Very Good (Non) Leakage (stereo).: 0.98 Very Good Contrast............................: 0.98 Very Good (Non) FishEye Effect…..: 1.00 Very Good ----------- IdealScope- In general, the darker pink areas indicate areas of greater light return, with the lighter pink areas indicating areas of lesser light return. The black areas indicate areas of greater contrast, with the gray areas indicating areas of lesser contrast. The white areas indicate areas of light leakage. A good explanation of the IdealScope image along with examples can be found at http://www.pricescope.com/idealscope_indx.asp Disclaimer- The facet arrangement and symmetry of the image will probably vary from your actual diamond, which may affect the light performance indicated. The computer generates an image with “perfect” symmetry, which is rare. Also, the star/lower girdle facet lengths may be different from your diamond. The computer simulation is reproduced best when the actual diamond is being viewed and the image "tweaked" to the appearance of the diamond, or Sarin info is downloaded directly into the program. However, this "blind" reproduction should be helpful in considering the major light performance aspects.. ----------- Rich, Independent GG Appraiser |

Thank you so much for the information Richard, I was hoping that it looked good. All those numbers can be a little intimidating. I'll be able to see the Brilliantscope tomorrow.

Okay I have the The BScope and it shows the following: White Light: Directly over the border of High/Very High. Color Light: Almost off the Very High Scale. Scintillation: Directly in the middle of Very High Range. Thanks, Lynn
