Hi everyone... I've been looking around for several months and know fairly well what I'm looking for, though I don't know if I can find it in my price range. I'm trying to put together a three stone ring with around a 1ct center stone princess cut. I've been looking for G color stones with SI1 clarity (personally, I don't care if its SI2, as long as it's eye clean) with Ideal cuts. I've been able to find several stones that interest me for around 5000, but I'd like to keep my total budget under 7k, 6k preferably. That sort of puts my stone budget around 4k unless I can find a nice setting with sidestones for a decent price. Would putting an ideal H color stone in a three stone setting be a bad idea? I don't want anything to be noticeably yellow, I've seen H stones before and I couldn't tell the difference, but then again, my eyesight isn't the best :). I'm thinking I like tradtitional three stone settings the best, something along the lines of this: http://www.jamesallen.com/create-your-three-stone-ring/Default.asp?pos=1&cid=260&module=setting&item=485 I think its finding the sidestones that is putting me out of buget. Anyways, thanks for the help! |

what size sidestones do you want? I kinda like 1 ct center, and .5 ctw sides http://www.thefacetscollection.com/item.cfm?item_id=3679 with maybe this stone? http://www.exceldiamonds.com/diamond/19183.html Or a GOG stone with an Ingwer 3 stone setting.

Maybe you haven't been looking high enough? You'll have to ask the folks at GOG if it's eye clean, but this option is more than a carat, F in color, AGS0, and though SI2, under $5K Ira (Ruffles have Ridges) Z. |

Thanks for the help! I've contacted GOG and am asking some questions about various stones they have in stock. While I'm doing that, what do you guys think about this stone as well: http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=b&pid=LD00330987&filter_id=0&sec=&query=21&page=&sortby=size-d I can't really read the GCAL and don't know how to use HCA... Thanks

HCA only works for rounds. And the requirements for Blue Nile Signature as stated on GCAL are only polish, symm, culet, clarity, color (maybe check for accuracy of the GIA report?) depth, table, girdle, crown height, and l/w ratio. So how does a thick to very thick girdle get to be on a Signature stone?

BN AGS princesses run small in general, so make sure you're looking at spread and not carat weight.
