Ok, so I have the diamond, the hard part, and now I am trying to decide between two settings, the second hard part. They are both from Ritani, and I am leaning toward the solitaire, but when I tried the three stone, it was just as beautiful on my hand. The stone is from GOG, H and A, 2.18ctw, my ring size is 4.5. Which setting do you think would look better?

hehe laura, I so understand your confusion. I love both of those settings too and both were on my list to choose from. I have tried both of them on and loved them. I love the solitaire setting and on the thin band the center stone really shines and is a star. The 3 stone is more finger coverage and is a more blingy look. I like them both and I guess it's going to be up to you which look you are trying for. I have heard from 3 stone owners that once you go to a 3 stone it's very hard to go back to a solitaire so I'd be 100% sure you want a 3 stone. I don't think you could go wrong with either one

You've got two totally different looks there, both lovely. Personally, with a stone that size, on your small finger, I'd go with the solitaire. I think it will let the stone shine, and look huge to boot!

Gosh they are all beautiful but I like the solitaire the best.  That way your stone is the star and the main attraction if you will.  Such a tough decision I'm sure.  Good luck deciding.

I like the solitaire best too. With a stunning H&A stone of that size from GOG...it would almost seem a crime not to make it the main attraction! LOL It seems like with such a big center stone, a three stone might be a bit much on such a tiny finger too. Any pics of your stone? I'd love to see!

They are both fantastic settings, but I vote for the three stone (not that I'm biased or anything).  What is this obsession with the center stone being alone so it can be "the star"?  Is there something wrong with "the star" having a sparkling companion on either side???  Of course it is totally up to you and what you prefer in the end and you can't go wrong with either choice here!

Hi Mrssalvo,

Sorry I haven't been able to post more, my wedding is 2 months away and I have been wedding planning non-stop now that I finally found my replacement stone! I chose the solitaire! I am really excited, I went to Bailey Banks and Biddle to try it on again, and I also went to another store that carried it there along with other designers and I just kept going back to the solitaire Ritani. I know that quite a few people here on PS have this setting, but no one I know or work with has it, so I am very excited. I ordered it through Pearlman's and I should have it by Sept. 15, the wedding is the 30th, but Jason at Pearlman's said everything should be fine. I just want to thank everyone again for all of their help and advice, I could not have gotten such a beautiful stone or setting if it were not for all of you on PS!!!!

GREAT choice, Laura!
I know that your time will be tight after you get your finished ring, but PLEASE do come back and post hand pics.

BTW- I'm also getting married on September 30th.  You should visit the Bride World Wide forum here on PS.  We've got a great community of Brides!

YAY...You'll have to post pictures. That's one of my all time favorite settings if you're talking about the pave one. we've seen a few here on PS but I've never seen anyone with it in person or even remotely similar either. It's going to be fabulous...

Edit: for misreading..

laura did you choose the ritani solitaire with the pave around the band or their totally plain solitaire with no diamonds? i don't think anyone on here has the plain solitaire.

my girlfriend has the pave one and LOVES it. it will be spectacular with a 2c+ stone. i'd love to see pictures because my girlfriend's setting has made me think about the future, hee hee, and i would love to see how a 2.2c stone looks in it (mine is 2.32).

woo hoo! congrats!
