I had a solitaire ring re-sized down to a size J which I think is 4 and 1/2 in USA. The ring is a six prong but two of the prongs I can now see day light through with a loupe where they do not touch the stone. Under one of the other prongs is a small mark on the girdle and a small bit of the top of the pavillion. Is it possible to chip a stone when resizing. I looks as though they have not re-tightened the prongs?
