I saw a Henri Daussi ring with a rectangular stone with crisscut facets that the store called a cushion. I liked it but the stone seems very shallow 48/49 % depth. The GIA cert has a wrinkle and I can't read this line clearly. The crisscut web site said the ideal cut proportions are shallower than an emerald cut. But didn't tell me what they are. My pricescope and internet searches have told me that people love the crisscut but not what the depth should be. Is this cut to be a stone with alot of spread? Can someone please help me? Thanks |

I have a cushion that looks like a Daussi cushion. It wasn't represented to me as such by the jeweler where I bought it, but in all the pics I've seen, that is the closest look to my cushion that I can find. My cushion is 53% depth. It is beautiful. I don't go by numbers, I go by what my eyes like. Good luck!

Thank you very much for your reply. My eyes are confused. I spent all day yesterday driving from store to store looking at diamonds! Terrible I know. ![]() I want a rectangular stone. It is a Radiant off the internet or one of these crisscuts. This stone seemed so shallow but I liked it. I may just have to go back and compare it to another crisscut. The price seemed very good so I am hesitating.

I'm afraid I am not a fan of the radiant cut. I don't really care for the crushed ice look, BUT........I have seen crisscut stones and of all the radiants, they are the most pleasing to my eyes. Like Lizz said, you can't let numbers be the determining factor. As with most fancy cuts, you're eyes are the best judge. Good Luck........ And btw.......spending a whole day looking at diamonds does sound like fun........to me "Got Diamond? |
