It seems to be an expanded version of the article that appeared in The Atlantic about twenty years ago that was discussed in the large "Investment" thread here on PS. It certainly is illuminating as concerns one perspective of the diamond industry as controlled by De Beers, and the idea of artificial scarcity. I'll be reading that one as time permits. Another source for more generic diamond history that I found entertaining is the online exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History site, which has some nice information and a pleasant format.
