Hello Everyone!  First time poster here.  Ive been lurking in the shadows, but now I seriously need to purchase an engagement ring/wedding ring set.  Ive been learning a lot about what to look for on here, and I value your opinions.

My search was inspired by mrssalvos post on 7/5 where she recommended diamond 2160 to hokie.  I emailed Tim at GOG asking for similar specs but slightly larger.  He sent me the first link below, but it may be too out of my budget just for the stone.  I still need to find a setting and wedding band, and I figured that will cost another $2k-3k (Im wishing).

So I did a diamond search on GOGs website and entered a price range of $6k, and came up with #2.  I did another search this morning and came up with several other choices when I entered $7k.  I listed #3 below.  My question is, what is your preference based on your standards?  Shall I stick with my budget and go for #2?  Or scrounge enough to invest in #1 or #3?  The first two have been confirmed eyeclean by Tim.

Thanks everyone!  Im excited to hear what you all have to say! BTW, Tim of GOG has been awesome!

First recommended by Tim:
#1   http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/2278
Somewhat out of budget, but if I can spare the difference should I invest in this one?

Then found this one, smaller but within budget, and probably best choice:
#2   http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/2292/

Or a compromise between the 2 sizes (ct wt) but still have to come up with about $1k more:
#3   http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/1737/

mmm..tough choice. I'm normally one to say go for the biggest but if it's pushing you out of budget go with the one you feel comfortable with. The nice thing about GOG is they have an upgrade policy so you can always move up down the road if you/she wants to.

nothing wrong with staying on budget.  The on-budget diamond is gorgeous as are the others.

AND the 2nd one which is $1k more:

AGS Cut Grade: Ideal*

GIA Cut Grade: Excellent*

gosh, those are so very close, i'd really doubt you'd see a difference. Did GOG have a preference? again, i'd probably take the bigger one

Hi F.Longstocking ~

By the way ... "Welcome to Pricescope"!

I just saw your thread, and here is another diamond that I think "ROCKS" ... just like "Hokie's".

It is your #3 ... or should I say ... Your #2 choice now.

I love this 1.26  I  SI1 ! The numbers are nice and I am sure it will be a sparkler. Check out the Bscope too!

LOVE ... is the Greatest Gift of all!
