nytemist Ideal Rock Total Posts: 885 Last Post: 11/20/2009 Member Since: 3/11/2005	Of my dress! Now, I know this is not most peoples' idea of a wedding dress and would find it odd. I know that the picts are pretty bad since it's with a disposable camera (haven't advenced to a digital camer yet, can't afford one) The color is washed it; it's a richer lilac than what you see here. And I know I've put on weight. i'm about 10lbs heavier than when I was measured in Feb. (stress) Once my weight goes back down, it will look better. I'm the resident oddball, but here it goes:

I was kind of concerned about how it would turn out because of the language barrier and the size of the girls, but it's just what I wanted. I LOVE how the lacing was done, I was expecting them to do the ribbon lacing but this is even better. Now I just have to get started on my veil.

I have aunt who is coming that loves the idea of a non-white wedding dress. It's not that I had any issue with a traditional form or shape or style, I just wanted a different color. In the past few years more desingers are offering other colors, but definitely not in my budget. Trust me, NO ONE could see me wearing white. I'm one of the night children from the eighties who was always in dark colors. Doing something like getting married is out of character enough for me! Brightspot- I'm making my own veil. My BM who made the bouquets had some material that is almost the same shade, so I'm attaching it to a simple comb to tuck into my hair.

I was kind of worried that if it didn't go over well here, it wouldn't at the wedding. I'm happy I went with having one made instead of buying one from a shop that wasn't 100% me. I'm going to the shop tomorrow with one of my BM's and she is going to bring her digital so I can get better pictures. In between doing dresses for prom season and doing replicas of couture wedding dresses, they had my dress done in a month and a half.

I'm going to keep it at my BM's house so it doens't get dirty or damaged in the mayhem of me packing and moving to my fiance's place. My other BM took these with her digital, so you can see the color better. She does have others that show more detail and I'll post thos when I can, but now you can get an idea of how gorgeous the color is. Please excuse the body briefers in the background and the amount of weight I've gained the past few months...
