Hi All,
I'm officially an engaged woman & my lovely ring has been crazy glued to my finger since Friday night. haha
My fiance & I went to Niagra Falls for a weekend gettaway & stayed at the Radisson Falls View way over at the Horshoe Falls. It was a beautiful hotel & we had the jacuzzi suite for the weekend. We had an incredible view as we were on the top floor- 15th. The jacuzzi was right by the window so you could sit there & look out. It was really nice. We were getting ready to head out for the evening when my fiance sits me down on the bed, gets on one knee, pulls out his speech & proposes to me. Even though I knew about it, let me tell you, it by no way diminished the impact of hearing those loving words, the cracking in his voice, & the tears he had in his eyes. It was very special & so perfect I couldnt have asked him to do it any better. It was a very emotional moment & I cried just as hard knowing about the ring as I would have if I had been surprised. He said we werent going out that night without that rock on my hand. haha What a showoff he is & so PROUD. This is cute, when we went out to dinner, he made me sit on the outside so the rest of the restaurant could see the ring. LMAO. I just laughed at him cause he was like a kid with a new toy only it was on my hand. Then we go to the casino & I go to one end of the room & he goes to the other end of the room. Boom, we both win 1,000 coins ($250) at the same time. OMG! It was funny. The lady beside me was excited when I said "I got engaged tonight too". After she saw my ring she didnt care about the 1000 coins. LOL Its a beauty & boy what high wattage sparkles its got. I will post pics of the ring tonight, I accidently left my digital camera at my parents place last night & I'm heading over there this afternoon.
For those of you guys that think that it would impact the proposal if you involve your girlfriend, it doesnt. It was just as special in my case & I was the one to pick my stone & setting.

Judy

Congrats Judy! Doesn't it feel good to have that baby weighing down your finger? There really is nothing like that box being opened and seeing your ring for the very first time. I was completely blown away at it's beauty.

What a lovely story and sounds very fun!! We wanted to go away for the weekend too when the proposal happened, but we didn't have any free weekends for another 2 weeks and he knew I didn't want to wait another minute!!!

Congratulations Judy!!!!!
Welcome to the 'New Fiancee's Club'!!Just like you, I got to pick out the diamond and design the setting...but it still took my breath away when my fiance opened the little box and it was shining at me. We took off to Vegas the very next day and let me tell you something, those casino lights are very flattering!! LOL
Once again Judy congrats on your 'official engagement'!

Hi All,
Thanks for the well wishes. The date has been set for May 1st, 2004.
I cant upload any pics as they are large files & I dont know how to shrink them. I havent learned that part of the manual yet for the new camera.

Judy--You can shrink pictures once they are loaded on your computer as well..off the camera. Chances are you have some sort of picture editing software application that maybe came with your computer or your camera when you installed it? Try opening one of the pictures, then using the 'crop' tool to cut the picture to only have the items you want in the picture (e.g. this is a good way to cut out extra background in the picture that is not necessary).

You can probably also easily 'resize' the picture using one of the pulldown menus in the picture editing software application, maybe resize it to 50% of the original size and make sure to 'preserve the aspect ratio' when you resize. Then save the picture as a new name so you don't overwrite the old large one (which you may want to use to make prints later), and try uploading the new file. If it is still too large, resize again (or take the large one and resize to 30% or similar if resizing the new one messes with the picture quality), or crop out more extra background.

Once you do it once or twice you should get the hang of it. Hope this helps...and if this does not work or you don't have an editing software app, you can email me the pictures if you want at mara@netmagic.net and I will resize them and post from work tomorrow.

Hi Mara,
Thank you for your generous offer. I tried & tried fixing the pics I have in my saved file. I am getting knowwhere. I will take some useless shots tomorrow to learn to crop these pics. I will email you a few pics. They will most likely add up to about 3K or so. :-( Thanks again,
Judy

Judy--you mean 3MB? Anyway..no big deal...one of the benefits of being able to retrieve my personal email at work (besides being able to keep up with Pricescope replies) is that the largest of files downloads with quick ease due to our fast connection. Just send them on over..and don't show restraint either. Send 8 if you want. Hee Hee.

Okay here are the pictures...there are three of them in three posts. I cropped them as best I could for size and to still show off the ring itself...so sorry if you wanted more of your hand in the 2nd two...but I figured the first hand shot gave the idea you were looking for and focused on the stone/ring itself in the 2nd two pix.

Thank you Mara! I played with the software program for over an hour & still couldnt figure it out! I need to take a digital class & soon.
Thanks for the compliments. As you can see, my fingers are short & stubby. They are a size 5.5 to 5.75 & the ring at its widest part is 3.8mm (just looks thinner with the ridging).

Great pics! Thanks again.

Sharp looking ring. I like the way the smaller diamonds enhance the larger one. A high impact visual experience.
